@kierealdeal90 @JayMotty Mid 30s. Ye I understand the perspective vs Nesta. Maldini and Baresi were better (more what I’ve read and heard than seen for Baresi- just before my clear memories). Personally I’d prefer Chiellini to Can. My dad used to rave about Scirea too but I’d defer to others on that.

Literally dozens of centre backs who spent their entire careers winning titles and playing every season in the CL. VVD was at Southampton till he was 26 for a reason. Late bloomer, nowhere near best ever.

@kierealdeal90 @JayMotty He was a good centre back who had a couple of great years and one perfect tournament. Didn’t win very much in his career and probably wouldn’t get in an all time Italy defence- maybe not even second string.

@JayMotty Fabio Cannavaro. Ballon D’or, World Cup. Shorter than your average centre back but it made no difference

@ClaretFPL I’ve regularly used a local carpenter called Warren and can’t help but play regulate ok the Sonos every time he’s at the house. I don’t think he’s worked it out.

@FPLSportScience I certainly don’t think he’s proven at premier league level at all- but I always think there are so few managers who are. Most managers fail. The championship and even League 1 is full of failed premier league managers- some of whom got multiple attempts on no basis.

Lampard underachieved with Derby. Played bad football and finished 6th. He had a good season at Chelsea followed by a disaster. Yet he is still in the running for huge jobs because of his eloquence and the privilege of being born into a footballing family. Football 🤝 Society

@Dabooka One who springs to mind is Anelka. Always seemed badly advised rather than disliking football. I think he saw a lot of the worst parts of pro football- but never helped himself.

I know it sounds weird but I believe in momentum in #FPL. Once you make two good decisions in a row & luck goes your way, you start making a series of good decisions. On the flip side, if you make a couple wrong, you start going on a downward spiral & need to break the cycle.

If that 2 uear consultancy role gives Rangnick power over signings MUN players should be worried is they are underperforming. He’s bit just another ‘main couch’ they can get rid of easily if they don’t like his ideas

@FplMode He’s the best sub option in the game- particularly if you got in at a low price. Otherwise you will have 4.5 mids or fwds with much lower potential. These big team full backs will get rotated a bit over the busy period too.

Anyone else looking at Livramento after this week and wondering if the can upgrade to another City or Chelsea defender?
