I need a better fitness tracker and I'm stuck between options currently running an Apple Watch 10 connected to Bevel, and while Bevel is great, the watch itself is driving me crazy. the battery life sucks and charging it every single day is not fun so I've been looking at alternatives and here's what's out there: > Apple Watch + Bevel (around €400 for the watch + €15/month for Bevel) > WHOOP (€200+ per year subscription depending on the model) > Oura Ring (€429 upfront + monthly sub) > Fitbit (€99 + subscription) > Garmin CIRQA ($200 upfront + no subscription (just dropped, screenless band with 10 day battery) what I care about: > charge as little as possible, ideally once a week or less > solid sleep tracking > tracks workouts without needing to think about it I´m probably missing some, but which one is the best out there?

I’d love a pay-as-you-go option for FSD on my Tesla Model Y. I mainly use public transport and cycling, so I only need it for a few longer trips each month. The monthly fee is hard to justify, but I’d happily pay based on usage or kilometers driven.

@bonjourmathou Always worth a shot: look into the port, it might have lint from your pockets in it. If so. Use a wooden/plastic tooth pick to remove it. Happens from time to time with me. The lint pushes the connector out too much, and it does not get a full connection

Oh well. It doesn’t even charge if I use a wall charger. Did I mention it went for repair a few weeks ago and they already changed the whole bottom part? 🙃🥲

So I recently decided to go back to iOS development because I kinda miss coding (not sure yet when/if I’ll go back to the IC track). Except that… nothing happens when I connect my phone to my laptop or Mac Studio. 🤯 Am I missing something after all this time??

@ChristianSelig Yes. And also a bug where if I drag a playing tab into a new tab. It duplicates the player. One stops (zombie) and the tab is stopped. If I start it it plays on top of the zombie one

Random question, but does anyone get that bug in Safari on Mac where when navigating the YouTube website, sometimes you'll navigate back a page and the page won't actually change at all despite the URL updating?

Okay REAL TALK, I need chair advice. I film all my videos with this TERRIBLE stool right now. I use it because the back isn't visible. I want a chair that doesn't suck but also isn't visible when filming from in front

@azamsharp Correction, zstack with two Texts. Then voice over/brail keyboards will not display an empty string, as suggested by others

@azamsharp I create a zstack with a text with a placeholder string. Put it behind the text field and add the hidden modifier. Make sure to apply same styling to text and text field. This ensures that the z stack is always has a view to use for the height.

This always drives me crazy. How can I prevent the CARD HOLDER Text to move up as I write something in the name TextField. The code that does not work is added in the replies.

@bzamayo Shake to undo is usable more places then you think. Another; In safari, closed a tab in the tab view? Shake to undo.

TIL if you mess up your home screen layout accidentally moving an app you can shake to undo and revert the chaos

@SnazzyLabs Just wait til you get too much lint in the new usbc port, and the cable does not enter/charge the phone. Personally I would like everything from the usb-c standards, but with the male/female lightning.

For the record, I do not miss it; however, USB-C is substantially less satisfying to insert than Lightning. Doesn’t seat with a nice click and it’s wiggly.

The new ContentUnavailableView in #SwiftUI is meant to be displayed when "the content of your app is unavailable to users". But I don't know, I can see other uses for it as a layout view.

@steipete Have you noticed any issues with brightness on your phone? I have it manually set to 20-30% but it has been at 100% numerous times after taking it out of my pocket.

I upgraded to the iOS 17 betas everywhere; the one “feature” that really makes this worthwhile is less broken autocorrect on iPhone.

Hidden gestures or “hard” login credentials might fail reviews, feels like they don’t read the instructions.

My Tesla app Evie is still getting rejected by App Store Review even after adding a dedicated demo mode to the app… what are my options here?
