@SchubertCalc @ded_ruckus Not in the vast majority of DEVELOPED countries - which the EU should be part of. But their 20% AC rate is far beyond places like japan, china, korea and others. It's a choice they made and they refuse to accept responsibility - instead they blame us for having AC

@ded_ruckus Sure but I'm guessing you're American (as am I) and are not aware that in the vast majority of other countries, AC is quite rare. Including Europe

@SadGurl2K16 They think their humidity makes it worse, while 43 states have worse humidity than england does. Basically, they'll use any angle to complain, and then when call on it, complain about people pointing out that they're wrong.

Actually baffled by this discourse, why do Brits think it doesn’t get dangerously hot in the states?? We are very aware of the dangers of heat — people die every year because of extreme heat in the US.

@CyborgPeds I always love the put downs that "you yanks don't have public transportation" or "too car-centric" from people whose countries are smaller than many US states. Same with passports: I can drive thousands of miles to completely different environments and never leave my country.

@RoaringHammy I wouldn't trust a new home unless it was custom built by a respected builder. New construction is hit or miss. Anything from the 80's to 90's is good - after Asbestos and before the Bubble crapfest.

@crewmateofshed Last year the hottest day in my state was near 37 celcius with worse humidity than you have. The coldest day was nearly -39 celcius. You just like to complain.

Interesting thing about being an American in Europe: Europeans don’t work weekends. Ever. You might think, well, nobody works weekends. But in the US there are whole industries built around it. Real estate agents. Car dealerships. Saturday and Sunday are the business. Not here. If you want to see a house or test drive a car, you take time off work to do it. Somehow this is normal. I don’t know how they pull it off. But they do.

Respectfully, European oomfs why do you guys act like yours is the only humid climate?😭 I keep seeing “Americans are SO dumb, they don’t understand it’s the HUMIDITY not the heat” It’s very humid in America. Much more humid than Europe on average. I understand you guys aren’t used to it, most don’t have AC, and climate change is making it hotter but can we stop screaming that Americans are stupid and can’t possibly fathom what you are experiencing? Today’s weather in London is a very average Florida spring day.

@PierreJouet @Real_Dystopia Euros always manage to shift the goalposts when a simple solution is offered. You can literally get portable air conditioners that only need a flexible house output to a small section of a window. And you can take it with you if you move for years and decades to come.
