So, here's a real problem with Minnesota's proposed "Assault Weapons Ban" (HF 5140):
Section 1, Sub 7, (b)(2)(iv) bans semiauto pistols with a magazine outside the grip.
This sweeps up many Olympic competition pistols (which are also fantastic for training newer shooters)

This isn't to say that there aren't thumbhole stocks on semiauto target rifles, but I think there's a much more obvious problem with MN's bill here: it would ban the Walther OSP and similar Olympic pistols.

This 20ga Cosmi had a broken stock, so I 3D printed a new one in nylon and gave it a fake wood finish.
Not nearly as pretty as the real thing, but seeing as new stocks are about $3,000, I'm happy.
