HIP-4 Something new was found. I bought a YES position on 'HYPE above 97.194 on Mar 25 at 10:45 PM' at 0.50 for 15 USDH. The market runs on a 15-minute cycle. When the market closed, the settlement happened automatically on HyperCore. No claim, no manual action. Here's the L1 transaction: type: 'VoteGlobalAction' settleOutcome: 2221 settleFraction: 0 details: 'price:97.194' settleFraction: 0 means the YES outcome lost. HYPE was below 97.194 at expiry. My 15 USDH position settled to 0. This answers one of the biggest open questions from our research: how does the CLOB side settle? It's not a Merkle claim like the EVM parimutuel contracts. It's not manual. It's a native L1 action called VoteGlobalAction that auto-settles every position at expiry. The system reads the price, determines the outcome, and closes all positions in one block. No oracle dispute, no admin intervention. This is the HyperCore side of HIP-4 in action. Settlement is built into the L1 consensus layer itself. Digging in progress. @CryptoPicsou I also think that having a unified margin account for all HIPs would enable new strategies across spot, perp, and HIP-4 hedging. For example, delta-neutral strategies like holding spot BTC while trading BTC up/down binary markets with a specific date (kinda similar to options).

Why will HIP-4 succeed? 1. Hyperliquid now has very strong distribution through its platform, as well as through the many frontends and wallets already integrating it. 2. Liquidity will be driven by arbitrage between Hyperliquid, Kalshi, and Polymarket. Once enough liquidity is bootstrapped, Hyperliquid can naturally become one of the main venues for prediction markets, especially for on-chain native users. 3. The same dynamic can apply to traditional options markets, where liquidity could develop through competition and arbitrage with platforms such as Deribit. HIGHER.

Hyperliquid is no longer just a perps exchange. HIP-3 let anyone list a new perpetual by staking HYPE, opening the platform to assets that would never clear a centralized listing process. TradFi assets have grown into a meaningful share of platform volume, driven largely by commodities. HIP-4 pushes this further by adding prediction markets into the same infrastructure. Outcome contracts share collateral with perps and equities in one margin account. Every position requires posting max loss upfront, so there's no leverage and no liquidations. The full vision isn't live yet, but each piece already exists in some form. What started as a perps exchange is becoming a single venue for everything.
