In this sad #Bristol rubble lies the former bookshop of Douglas Cleverdon who, in the mid-1920s, had a shop sign painted by his friend, Eric Gill. This is the recently demolished birthplace of... the font Gill Sans.

It's always a pleasure to work with our local MPs to bring improvements to the railway - in this case a new station being developed for Cullompton.

@Redkitetravell1 No, I didn't know that was your point. GWR serves Axminster, so, regardless of the frequency, it needs to be on the network map.

@GWRLuke My point, as you well know, is its a bit rich of gwr to put it on their map when it gets a single one way service. Which often seems to finish at Exeter anyway? At least run the return in passenger service or extend to Yeovil?

@Redkitetravell1 The Axminster route is served by 19 South Western Railway trains each weekday, every hour. The GWR service is extra & is run for peak travel & to help our train crew maintain knowledge of the route for when we divert long distance trains during closures of our usual route.

@driverbod125 @marty_mcd @kentishwizard The original 815001 and 815002 have the larger 9-car size kitchens and were painted from white to green before reforming from 800001/002 into 800311/312 as 829011/012. Newbuild 815001/002 with smaller kitchens were then inserted into 800001/002, painted white and vinylled green.

It seems that 800024 has joined 800026 in the ‘class 800/0s that are painted and not vinyled’ club. If that is indeed a club.
