It is about time those of us in progressive politics owned up to our failures. ·       We argued for social justice for all and ended up arguing it should only be for a favoured few identity groups. ·       We argued for women’s rights and ended up arguing men could be women and could occupy women’s spaces. ·       We argued for same-sex marriage and ended up with saying there are no sex-based rights. ·       We argued for renewable energy and ended up allowing giant, multinational energy companies to bulldoze thousands of hectares of our precious, high biodiversity forests for wind farms. ·       We argued for free speech and ended up by practising cancel culture. ·       We argued for multiculturalism and ended up believing that criticism of the practices of a minority culture is, necessarily, racism. ·       We argued that imperialism should be combated and ended up believing only US imperialism causes authoritarianism and repression.

@goddek @disclosetv You are quite wrong. This war is a gift from God. He has blessed us by enabling us to participate in freeing the prisoners, the noble kings and kingmakers of Iran! It's proof that the Lord still loves us and is faithful.

I reject the individualism/collectivism dichotomy. It's a spectrum. Humans are pack animals, and need each other for support, defense, etc. Some individual humans falsely believe that they don't really need the rest of the pack supplying them with defense, policing the streets, and manufacturing their food. Egomaniacs.

Not all children are going to the future. Kids have every right just as adults to take the final sleep. If a teenager knows what they want and the government will provide it, I don’t see any issue. If the time comes where it’s forced at a random selection that might be something to push back against but now it is ok

According to @AwakenedOutlaw’s information, Canada is “studying” MAiD for children. Children. They want to euthanize CHILDREN. They call them “mature minors.” And PARENTS WOULD HAVE NO SAY. They would be EXCLUDED from the process. This is a half step from Hell.

Unfortunately, the government has passed Bill C-9, despite national outcry and efforts by the opposition and civil liberties groups like ours to see it scrapped or drastically amended. Some important amendments were made to the original draft—changes we proposed and supported—including keeping the requirement for Attorney General approval of hate crime charges and retaining the Supreme Court’s narrower definition of “hatred.” Still, the overall trend of this government is to exert increasing control over the feelings, beliefs and expression of Canadians. This is deeply concerning.
Free Speech Union of Canada@FSU_Canada

What would Bill C-9 mean for your freedom of expression? The “Combatting Hate Act” isn’t long, but it packs a punch. @FSU_Canada’s primary concerns are that the enactment of #BillC9 will result in the over prosecution of alleged hate-related offences and will criminalize forms of constitutionally protected speech and expression. This is because Bill C-9 creates new hate crimes, makes it easier to lay charges for hate-related offences, and lowers the legal bar for “hatred.” Read our full brief here: fsucanada.ca/what-bill-c-9-…

Psychological scientist J.D. Haltigan told me the feminine impulse to be empathetic has been weaponized. “We’ve come to basically hijack the feminine ethic of care.” “And if a society becomes completely feminine, all kinds of chaos will ensue.” “Because you don’t have any sort of rule-based, lawful, statistically-minded, quantitatively-focused orientation to why we have laws, why we have rules, why we need order, why we need immigration law, and so forth.” “Masculinity is what will track, personality-wise, with systemization, and femininity is sort of the analogy with empathization.” But this feminization has become dominant in many areas of society with major effects. @JDHaltigan

@ThePosieParker So what you mean is, you’ve indoctrinated your young adult into adopting your own vile beliefs and are now upset that, quite rightly, the college are taking issue with hate speech being used on their premises. You should be ashamed at being filled with hate and have infected him.

I began writing this in October 2016 and picked it back up today six years ago. Acknowledging that we do get sick and die, something that government does not need to help us do, effectively makes pandemicking a physical impossibility. We can care for the sick and the dying.

@aristomarinetti Men only worked hard to be rewarded with wages and leadership of the household. A far cry from what they demand of women: to sacrifice a lot more for unpaid motherhood , only to be punished with submission and not acknowledged as part of building the civilization.

The Heretical Liberal 🇨🇦
The Heretical Liberal 🇨🇦@Rob_ThaBuilder·
It is interesting how when you realize the truth on one issue, it can change have ripple effects on many of your other positions on issues. Up until about 3-4 years ago, I held pretty consensus liberal beliefs on just about every issue. I was comfortable in my tribalism. The trans issue shattered that comfort and it was the first issue that I "broke" on. The cognitive dissonance between what I was expected believe and my own values was too great. I still consider myself left-of-centre (altho I describe myself more of a "classical liberal" and at the moment have more in common with a moderate righty than a standard lib) but once you get to that headspace, where you can full throatedly reject something on your own side, it completely opens your mind on many other, unrelated ones. I guess once you identify the flaw in thinking on one issue, its much easier to identify it on other ones. I now think DEI is the primary cause if racial division in our society, that immigration policy is absolutely insane, that abortion is a complex issue involving competing rights (altho im still pro-choice, im more of an anti-abortion pro choice, if tbat makes sense) etc etc. And without even realizjng when this happened, Im now firmly in favor of the death penalty. I do think it should be saved for cases where tbere us absolutely no doubt of guilt, no remorse and no possibility for rehabilitation, but society desperately needs it. When you remove the rose-colored liberal goggles, you realize that civilozation and social order is both precious a d fragile, and some ppl are just irredeemably evil, and their presence in our society will constantly undermine order and public trust. We dont often notice these shifts in our thinking happening in real time, but its interesting once in a while when you take stock of what your beliefs are and realize they've changed quite a bit without you even noticing.
Wilfred Reilly@wil_da_beast630

I do not think killing, or even torturing, (say) serial killers is horrifying at all. The large majority of people, when asked well-framed honest questions, just reallllly do not care much about this. If the pain of a serial killer affects you at all, you are not only evil, but also weak prey.* *I am learning to write like a lib

An objectively wild career move and one I couldn’t be happier with or prouder of. The world needs more local reporters more than it needs more national ones and even if I go back to national reporting one day, I’ll be a much better reporter for this experience.

I was wondering why this guy disappeared from politics Twitter. Voluntarily going from NBC political reporter to editor of a regional newspaper covering a population of roughly 150k people seems like a wild career move, but if it makes you and your loved ones happy, go for it.

You can almost feel the panic spreading. Trump has created a sinkhole that he can't get out of. The best solution is probably for Trump to cut his losses, swallow his pride and do a deal with the new Ayatollah. Guarantee that neither Israel or the US will attack Iran ever again and relieve some of the sanctions on Iran. It would be an enormous humiliation, but it's better than triggering a global recession over vanity.
