NEW: 50 empty Waymos invade Atlanta neighborhoods and circle their cul-de-sacs for hours early in the mornings. Residents say they are getting waymo traffic than usual and have tried combating the cars with a neon green sign, which only made the problem worse. The Waymos didn't know what to do and clogged the entire street. "We have small animals and pets, got kids getting on the bus in the morning, and it just doesn’t feel safe to have that traffic," one resident said. The residents say Waymo has not given them a response yet.

There was never a $12 billion hole in the budget. That fairy tale was cooked up to justify reckless spending and political theater. I left the incoming administration with $8 billion in reserves, not a financial apocalypse. Albany election-year bailouts are not a long-term economic strategy. The free money dries up after Election Day, but the bloated “free” programs stay forever. And here’s the part the socialists in City Hall never want to admit: the millionaires and billionaires they love demonizing already pay roughly 40% of NYC’s taxes. Keep demonizing the people creating jobs, investing in this city, and carrying the tax base, and eventually they’ll stop investing here altogether. Facts are stubborn things. Even when some politicians aren’t.

Every human who has ever lived, every breakthrough in consciousness, and every dream for the future is currently contained on this lone blue marble To ensure the light of consciousness continues, we must become a multi-planet species "We need to assume that life and consciousness is extremely rare, and it might only be us. And if that’s the case, then we do everything possible to ensure the light of consciousness is not extinguished” — Elon Musk

After CBS embarrassed Karen Bass by fact-checking her debate lies about the Palisades Fire, they clearly got the call. CBS filmed with me on my burned out lot for over an hour, and they turned it over to Karen Bass’ PR team to edit it into a comical 5 minute hit piece with clips from the Hills. They can’t beat my ideas, they can’t beat me in the debates, so they gotta try to turn my campaign into a sideshow. People are done with these skeezy political tricks, and I’m done with CBS. They’ll never get a word from me for my next 8 years as mayor. Adios! What outlet should I have in their absence?

You're wasting your time bro. The only thing this lady understands is giving away everyone else hard EARNED money. She wants people who hate america on never ending welfare so she can continue to spu this nonsense in washington. She simply doesn't have the capacity to understand. All she knows is capitalism is evil therefore billionaires are evil. Don't forget she was jetsetting with bernie on private jets. She is a narcissistic hypocrite.

It saddens me to see this level of economic illiteracy. Creating a billion dollar company isn’t evil, and you don’t have to steal from workers. Are you telling me the founders of Google, Facebook, Apple got rich by underpaying their workers and forcing them to get food stamps? No, they paid workers generously, and gave them free food at company cafeterias. These founders didn’t take from the company’s operating budget that was meant for payroll. They benefited from the appreciation of equity, and gave their employees access to the same equity appreciation. What a dangerous way of thinking to claim that anyone who created value must have stolen it.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@AOC

The single largest form of theft in America is wage theft. $50 billion a year are stolen from American workers. If a billionaire amasses their wealth by underpaying their full-time workers so severely that they must rely on food assistance and government programs to survive, then no, that wealth was not earned by one individual - it was a wealth transfer subsidized by underpaid American workers and the public who get stuck with the bill for large corporations free-riding off our systems. The point is less about individual morality. It’s more about how our current economic reality of shattering inequality rewards screwing over workers and exploiting essential systems at scale. We’re talking monopoly power. Rent-seeking. Wage theft. Profiteering. Stock buybacks. Destabilizing housing markets. Companies using SNAP/EBT to underwrite their wages. Massive government subsidies or contracts to corporations following lobbying and dark money in politics with little to no oversight or accountability. Some people get enraged that I draw attention to this. That’s on them. Let them call me shrill, dumb, inexperienced, girly, uneducated - these folks will say anything to distract from or undercut the truth that working people are getting screwed, and giving people a fair shake means we must have a grown conversation about reigning in abuse of power.

You have a zero-sum mentality. You think 'earning' $1 billion is "impossible" because you cannot conceptualize how the economy works. The economy works by bringing the future forward. The future is infinite. Therefore, the economy is much closer to infinity than it is zero sum. Try telling someone from 1,000 years ago that millionaires would exist, most people in America would own a magical square in their pocket that has access to all of humanity's information, and they can drive a metal box that will take them thousands of miles away, or ride in a tube that will fly through the sky while they watch a movie on their magical square device. Your entire premise lacks imagination, which is not surprising from someone who makes a living leeching off of the taxpayer by misleading low-info voters.

Someone can certainly *make* a billion dollars. That’s not the same thing as earning. Growing fast and disrupting markets also often means chasing and wielding market power, political influence, and scale. Take Airbnb. They heavily lobby politicians against passing housing laws to protect working class residents because it’s bad for their business model. Airbnb could not exist at its current scale and size without the housing market destabilizations, displacements, and exploits that are supercharging the evictions of working people everywhere from Puerto Rico to Jackson Hole. Now young people are planning for a future where they will never be able to afford to own a home while others have 20 and live off renting it out to them at extortionate rates with zero protections. Yes, a tiny amount of people can make billions of dollars doing that. And millions of everyday Americans are bearing the cost.
Paul Graham@paulg

Sure you can earn a billion dollars. I've been teaching people how to do it for 20 years. The way you do it is to start a company that grows fast. You don't have to do anything bad to make a company grow fast. You just have to make something people want. paulgraham.com/ace.html

🚨 @RyanCohen calls out @eBay. 🚨 Then he walks onto @eBay and uses their own platform to prove his point. A PSA 10 Trump Topps Now card with a @PSAcard estimate around $216 is already bid up to $1,525 with nearly a week left. That is not just an auction. That is a live demonstration of price discovery, scarcity, culture, attention, authentication, and marketplace liquidity all colliding in real time. Now zoom out. He is reportedly doing this with 20 items. At this pace, he might use the proceeds to buy eBay himself. But the joke is hiding the real lesson. This is checkmate. Ryan is not just telling eBay’s board they are underperforming. He is using their own platform to show the world what they have failed to understand. @eBay does not just have listings. It has cultural inventory. It has collector psychology. It has trust infrastructure. It has global demand sitting behind every rare, authenticated, story-driven asset. Yet the board does not meaningfully buy shares, does not appear to act like owners, and does not seem to fully leverage the machine sitting directly in front of them. @RyanCohen is turning their own scoreboard into the argument. This is not trolling. This is activist investing as performance art. This is strategy with a receipt attached. The man is showing that collectibles are not dead inventory. They are financialized culture. They are emotional markets. They are attention assets. And when the right operator understands that, a marketplace stops being a website and becomes an arena. One day, Harvard Business School will write case studies on this. The activist did not just call out the board. He used their own product to expose the opportunity they were sleeping on. Checkmate.

I have paid over $10B in taxes in a single year, more than anyone in history. If I exercise and sell stock options, the combined federal and state income tax is ~45% (I still pay California taxes for every day I spend there). Then there is another 40% tax paid on my estate when I die. Overall, I will probably end up paying trillions in taxes.

🚨 I was almost taken hostage in Cuba... I went to Cuba to document the humanitarian crisis and show life under 60+ years of communism and now amid the US blockade. Once I landed, they seized all my cameras except my iPhone and had intelligence agents following me all day until my security noticed their spies tailing us to the hotel where they waited all night for us to come down. Under communism there is no free speech, and those who show the reality or speak up are imprisoned. Me going without a planned Cuban government guide nearly got me and my security taken hostage or imprisoned. The situation in Cuba is much worse than anyone knows.

$GME CEO Ryan Cohen says GameStop could fund an $EBAY bid with half cash, half stock and “issue stock in order to get the deal done.” Michael Burry says move “makes perfect sense” despite GameStop being worth ~$12B and eBay ~4x larger at ~$46B. I’m literally left speechless after listening to Ryan Cohen explain how he plans to bridge that math in this interview.

Accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy is pretty philanthropic. Giving low income/rural or disaster/storm hit areas access to high-speed internet via Starlink is pretty philanthropic. Giving disabled people the ability to control computers & robotic arms with their thoughts is pretty philanthropic. @elonmusk's companies are doing more to improve quality of human life than any "charitable" giving from any other billionaire on that list.
Forbes@Forbes

Elon Musk is the planet’s richest person by far, worth $839 billion as of Forbes’ annual World’s Billionaires list. He also ranks among the least philanthropic billionaires. Sure, Musk has transferred $8.5 billion of Tesla stock to his charitable foundations (1% of his net worth)—but nearly all of it is still sitting there idle. Only an estimated $500 million, or 0.06% of Musk’s vast fortune, has ever been disbursed to those in need. His lack of giving raises a question: What would our billionaires ranking look like if the world’s most generous people had never donated a dollar to charity? forbes.com/sites/mattduro…
