@adcock_brett Looks like you could save 20% of the effort and go with 4 digits per hand. The little one looks like it is only needed for drinking tea with the queen.

@ID_AA_Carmack I always wondered if Paul McCartney was a computer guy with his song "When I'm 64".

I find it surprising when decisions about things like the number of runs with different random seeds wind up with “round numbers” like 10 or 50 instead of system friendly powers of two like 8 or 32. You know something about the background of a programmer by their constants!

@mikeysee It's getting harder by the day for Tesla to release a new Optimus demo and not look woefully behind (eg, dancing without feet leaving the floor).

Strategy note: The humanoid robotics guys like @adcock_brett must be quaking in their shoes after @tesla’s demo of how the future looks, right? He runs @Figure_robot. There are plenty of others, including @kscalelabs, @BostonDynamics, and @1x_tech. I disagree with that premise. They should be excited instead. Why? Tesla just woke everyone up. There are plenty of customers for humanoids. While Hertz took over the lead position in rental cars there is still Avis and many others. Same will be true here. Even if you accept the premise that Tesla is Hertz (I don’t, this game is in its very early stages) then there will be markets that Tesla misses, plus there are plenty who will never use Tesla. Will Disney ever use Optimus after Elon told its CEO to F off? Doubt it and while walking around Disneyland I can see places for thousands of robots to be used in just one of its parks. And I seriously doubt any other automaker will use Optimus in its manufacturing lines. To name just two examples. Plus, Tesla might miss markets that others get to first. Dentists? Surgeons? They might need specialized integrations into other medical devices, or even hands, that Tesla doesn’t see the need for, since it is chasing its own manufacturing needs and visions for getting them accepted into people’s homes. Plus, these will be strategic for firms like Amazon and delivery services. Will they all go with Tesla? No! So, if I were running one of these companies, or investing in them, Tesla wouldn’t scare me at all. Instead I would be happy that potential customers will now be knocking the door because Tesla woke them up that humanoids are here. This market is just beginning. It is way too early for one player to take over the whole market. Even one as well positioned and capable as Tesla. Hey, I recently quit my job at Deck13 and can finally reveal the reason. I'm currently busy finishing a phd but from next May I'll see if I can make it as a freelancer. If you want help with console ports or performance work for anything that's not Unreal or Unity, get in contact

@JohnVial I was trying to do some stuff with an Nvidia device over usb and no virtualization worked. So I ended up booting ubuntu from a dedicated Usb stick, which felt like getting a whole new computer for $50.

@thomasuster Yeah, it can be pretty brutal. Some of the "puzzles" could be made more logical, but that is part of the charm.

@cmandlbaur Not really. I have done a few things with things like tensorflow where you can generate the externs from code, and there are projects like unreal.hx that use some definitions, but I do not have a unified approach.

@omgjjd @Nanjizal_net I cross-compile nme from windows to rpi. Much faster and no probs installing haxe. Not so great if you want to make good use of the keyboard though.

I created my own canvas engine in #haxe for #js13k which now works and is small. It can draw wobbly lines with minimal effort. So I want to make a mobile game with objects that composed of lines or something.. I only have one issue.. I have no idea what game to build.. lol

@GameHaxe Are you planning to write about the improvements/changes to jsPrime, certainly seems to work a lot smoother. I think for loading it would be better to have Jpeg image of the board greyed out and have the loading bar over the top.

@elsassph Yes, it ships in the haxelib just like the other "ndlls". Pretty easy to recompile if required though.

@elsassph It compiles the haxe code to js, and the nme c++ runtime to wasm. As opposed to haxe to hxcpp to wasm or a js runtime implementation. This keeps the targets consistent and fast.

@Nanjizal_net It's open source, so you can just use this Ai and do whatever you want graphically.

@Nanjizal_net I'm not too interested in 3D upgrades, but there are some things that would be nice - flipping the board of black, and being able to move forwards/backwards in the move list. Suggestions, attacked pieces and socket to other engines would also be upgrades.
