@MartinBodek here, along esteemed colleagues, providing Word Prompt services again for The Jewish Press. The word is "Mayim." I put it, literally (in the figurative sense of the literal meaning), in the spin-cycle. IOW, I went the "drei-kup" route. Enjoy! jewishpress.com/word-prompt-ma…

And they'd be right for doing so. No US president, no matter how cold their relationship with Israel (Bush I, Obama), treated Israel with such disrespect.
Avi@AviHein

@AnshelPfeffer If this was a Democrat or anyone but Trump, Netanyahu and every right wing Israeli would be throwing a fit

@jacklanger @JonahPlatt @beherenow365 They "can" become Jewish. Factually that's true, but factually also not happening very often. Especially amongst orthodox communities. Reform = yes, reconstruction = yes. Orthodox conversion is extremely hard and also extremely hard to even get accepted. That's why we don't grow.

What if Judaism became the world's fastest-growing religion? We have the wisdom, the ritual, the community, the roadmap to meaning. We're just not offering it to anyone. Why?

Told to me by someone very close to Rav Joseph B. Soloveitchik regarding bedikas chametz: The Rav never put out bread pieces for two reasons. The first is the mitzvah is to search, not to find. Second if you put out pieces and do not find them all you have a big problem on Chag.

@MyNameIsAviJ If it was indeed safer in Israel that would be one thing. But it's not. We say tehillim for jews in israel at every teffila, because its dangerous there. For Israelis to try to fear monger and shame us for not moving to Israel is a chutzpah

I just deleted a thread about Charedim and the Israeli draft. There is no way to discuss this. It is a very sad situation and I mourn over how both sides are behaving. It’s like watching the Churban happen all over again.

@DBashIdeas agog at the fully unhinged comments here assuming that sports - a fulsome communal experience that can create connections that transcend demographic barrier - is somehow harmful.

A friend asked his Rosh Yeshiva if he should watch the Super Bowl. The Rosh Yeshiva said he should. My friend was surprised, “but rebbe you always tell us not to care about this sort of thing?!” “Sometimes,” the Rosh Yeshiva responded, “you gotta throw your yetzar harah a bone.”

@Sassy_Khat @ninja_raven256 @HQSatmar You are a moron That wouldn't result in Down Syndrome. Second, older mothers would, but are you suggesting that it would be better to have a world without these otherwise happy people just because they are different and developmentally delayed?

Kiryas Joel is a beacon of hope in the Jewish community, especially known for its extraordinary adoption rates of children with Down syndrome. Families here routinely step up to embrace these special kids, often from Satmar families but also from Jewish communities nationwide. These children are not hidden; they actively participate in family events and daily life, receiving dignity and patience from their community, not pity. For Low IQ clickbait @tyleraloevera to Mock these special children many times in his video just to gain clicks on YouTube is not just cruel; it reveals a deep misunderstanding of their worth. In a world that preaches inclusion, Kiryas Joel embodies it through action, demonstrating that love and acceptance can truly change lives. #Inclusion #Adoption #KiryasJoel #Downsyndrome

@NYCMayor Unilaterally attacking a sovereign nation....isn't that what Hamas did? Did you condemn that?

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
I was briefed this morning on the U.S. military capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, as well as their planned imprisonment in federal custody here in New York City. Unilaterally attacking a sovereign nation is an act of war and a violation of federal and international law. This blatant pursuit of regime change doesn’t just affect those abroad, it directly impacts New Yorkers, including tens of thousands of Venezuelans who call this city home. My focus is their safety and the safety of every New Yorker, and my administration will continue to monitor the situation and issue relevant guidance.

Heartiest congratulations and Mazel Tov to New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani. We are proud to endorse you and look forward to your leadership, vision, and collaboration for the betterment of our community and all New Yorkers
Zohran Kwame Mamdani@ZohranKMamdani

I was honored to receive the endorsement of Rabbi Moshe Indig and Ahronim leaders in Williamsburg today, where we were joined by my friend @LincolnRestler. Together, we will fight the scourge of antisemitism and build a city that works for every New Yorker.

I walked past Sha’ar Shechem (Damascus Gate) into the old city of Yerushalayim today and noticed these phone covers for sale. The Arabic text on the image reads: “From the river to the sea, patience and victory is from G-d the Most High.”

Found at the Islamic Charity Association in Hebron. And this is not even Gaza. You think peace and Palestinian statehood is close? Don't be delusional, as long as this Nazi-adulation and Jew-hatred is so ingrained!
