Last fall, as my 86-year-old father-in-law lay dying of cancer at his home in Lakeland, Florida, the pool guy told my wife—who was tending to her dad—that he was owed $2,000 for past services. He claimed that he’d left my father-in-law’s check “out in the rain” and it had been ruined. Although distraught over her father’s situation, my wife is a sensible person and asked to see the “ruined” check before writing a new one. Weeks pass, and the pool guy starts to get pretty aggressive about demanding payment, before he finally produces the “ruined” check on which he also claims to have spilled ink (!)—and shows her many other similarly “ruined” checks. My wife logs into her father’s bank account and sees that the check—in perfect condition—had been cashed by the pool guy months earlier. So he’s obviously trying to take advantage of her vulnerable situation to scam her. We were outraged and concerned that he’d pull this stunt on others, so we immediately contacted the Polk County Sheriff’s Department. We were assigned a Detective to whom we presented the evidence: emails demanding payment, the copy of the bogus “ruined” check, and the bank’s copy of the intact check that was cashed. Alas, they’ve now ghosted us since we last reached out 3 months ago asking for an update. And that brings me to my point: I don’t know what’s happened in our country, but our law enforcement agencies and prosecutors seem more interested in doing their paperwork than in actually enforcing the law. I hope we can change this before people stop bothering even to bring wrongdoing to the authorities’ attention, as has happened in many other countries. The rule of law requires enforcement of the law!

I have spent a good part of my career just getting people to believe this was actually happening. Now we are here. With 15 drones, you can lose roughly 1/4 of the B-52 force as it sits idle on the ground. This was always the most concerning scenario. Time to move to hardening. Just a matter of time now till we learn the hard way.
Hey, Dave!@davegreenidge57

Barksdale AFB was hit by multiple waves of drones over a week’s time. The base houses numerous nuclear weapons.

This research introduces a system that recovers the hidden information needed for computers to successfully reproduce academic experiments. Academic papers often leave out crucial details, which prevents other researchers from recreating the results in their work. This paper addresses the problem by identifying three types of missing knowledge, specifically relational, somatic, and collective details. The proposed system, named PAPERREPRO, uses a graph-based framework to automatically find and apply this missing information during reproduction. It works by analyzing relationships between the original paper and its neighbors, then uses feedback from running code to refine its understanding. This method allows AI agents to fill in the gaps that authors leave behind, making automated experimentation much more reliable. By turning these implicit details into actionable steps, the framework bridges the gap between static text and executable code. ---- Paper Link – arxiv. org/abs/2603.01801 Paper Title: "What Papers Don't Tell You: Recovering Tacit Knowledge for Automated Paper Reproduction"

🚨 BREAKING: Sec. Kristi Noem just shockingly announced that Elon Musk helped her uncover SPYWARE installed by DHS STAFFERS onto her phone and computer TRAITORS MUST BE PROSECUTED! "@ElonMusk and his team were extremely helpful to me. They helped me identify that some of my own employees in my department had downloaded software on my phone and my laptop to spy on me to record our meetings. They had done that to several of the politicals." "We ended up bringing in people. And that was something that if you didn't have those technology experts here in the department, looking at all of our laptops and our phones and recognizing that kind of software, it would still be happening today." "So one of the things I need to do and continue to do is partner with technology companies and experts to bring them in and help us."

Whatever you think about the geopolitical technology landscape of today, understand one thing: we are still so early. The biggest industries of the 21st century exist now only as small demonstrations from the frontier.

The future of firefighting is coming to Aspen. As Chief Andersen states, "It's another tool in the toolbox that makes our communities safer, more insurable, and makes our firefighters safer." Thank you @ShannonOgden1 and @DenverChannel for having founder & CEO @Stu_Land on to highlight our groundbreaking partnership with the @AspenFireDept. Full story in the comments below.

Fire is an issue of great importance to our nation. But, it is fundamentally a local issue, starting with the local Fire Department, local bureaus, local community action. So, it was terrific to talk to the local @NPR station @aspenpubradio about what @Seneca_Systems launch with @AspenFireDept means. As Chief Andersen puts it: this is "what most people think is going to be the future of firefighting." We agree, and are working non-stop to make that reality. 🇺🇸 🫡 Big thanks to @michaeljfanelli for the thoughtful article. Great connecting. Link in first comment.

Today @Seneca_Systems announces a five year contract with @AspenFireDept to bring a Seneca Strike Team of five aircraft plus a Mobile Air Operations Base to Aspen this summer. This is the first fire department acquisition of an autonomous aerial fire suppression system in the world. It is a testament to the work of the exceptional team at Seneca. And it will protect an irreplaceable natural environment and thousands of Americans, their homes and businesses. We want to work alongside people who make us better. It is a privilege we do not take lightly to roll this out in with Chief Jacob Andersen and the whole extraordinary team at Aspen Fire. Colorado has a long history of wildfire. The famous South Canyon fire in 1994 killed 14 firefighters. 4 of the 5 largest fires in CO history happened since 2020. And now - CO has red flag warnings in February, the middle of winter. The need has never been greater. Technology is our best chance to hold back the effects of wildfire in a changing world. We are grateful for the responsibility and privilege of doing that this summer in Aspen.
