Lacy is under fire after using a viewer’s DoorDash account to deliver food, only to eat customers orders, get the account banned, and then refuse to compensate the viewer who relied on it for income 😳

@ChargePozitive Paying 70% per trip would cost Lyft more. By calculating it weekly, they offset low-paying trips with higher ones, hide the real math, keep drivers working longer, and only pay the difference at the end. Weekly guarantees protect their profits — trip-level guarantees wouldn’t.

Why do I say this? Because if we make less than 70% each week we have to wait for Lyft to calculate how much they DIDN’T pay us and then get an adjustment. Just simplify it and bake into the algorithm 70% as a minimum.

Why does @lyft not just have 70% be calculated every ride as the bare minimum…? It can’t be THAT hard for a software based company with many coders to program an algorithm that has 70% be the lowest allowable driver payment instead of doing adjustments each week @davidrisher

Wow… @lyft way overcharged the rider here AND took the MAJORITY (72%) of the fare. Just wow … Does this look OK to you @davidrisher ?

Just reviewed my @amazon spending and wow… I order way more than I realized 😅 It feels like something shows up every few days. So for November, I’m challenging myself: no Amazon purchases unless they’re true household essentials. Wish me luck! 🤣 #BudgetingRight

@thechuckdriver @TheRideshareGuy Its amazing how most people think our cars belong to them because they booked a service. I dont allow eating in my car either because passengers dont watch what they are doing, nor clean up after themselves.

Your passenger jumps in and starts munching on a slice of pizza right away. What do you say? And how would you respond if they insist they can eat if they want? 🍕🚘 @TheRideshareGuy youtu.be/Wpoe763zCqg?si…

@DriversC2C Even with the rise of autonomous vehicles, rideshare and delivery will likely remain for another 15–20 years. There are too many real-world variables for full automation to replace drivers entirely. Still, building secondary income/exit plan should be a driver’s long-term goal.

@boston_drives As an inveterate tipper, I have to disagree with you on this one. I give @davidrisher credit for trying this pilot and agree with @lyft’s decision to end it. Pilot tests are supposed to gauge mkt reaction, and most folks hate accountability

So Lyft shafts drivers after a couple reddit whiners complain? Riders who tip deserve the benefit of having their drivers know this. It leads to better service for them, which is deserved. I provide first rate service to ALL riders, but seeing that “rider tips on 92% of rides,” made me even more attentive and accommodating. Don’t be naive, this happens in restaurants and other service settings all the time. Servers and other staff share whether regulars are generous or not. I’m a great tipper and where I’m a regular I get better service. This is common, normal, and as it should be. LYFT never told us they were bad tippers, so the lack of that notice on an offer didn’t mean that a tip wasn’t coming and didn’t harm non-tippers at all. The fact that Lyft has this information — and a way to share with drivers built into their app — but won’t share it with the independent contractors driving on their platform shows they DGAF about drivers at all. @QueenUberDriver @corideguy @RideshareRodeo If your account has been deactivated for more than a week and you aren’t getting responses to emails, appeals or via their X support, consider initiating arbitration. Starting the process often speeds things up because it moves your case to their legal team for direct viewing.
