@thatstraw For nearly 20 years, it was Linux. As SystemDisease (systemd init) has become nearly ubiquitous on Linux, I'm switching from Devuan to FreeBSD.

In a modern context, almost everyone in Starfleet is some sort of quantum engineer, and they have a replicator that can crank out anything at any time. It is a completely post-scarcity society, so they could crank out Springfields with the Peterson device and then literally chuck them out the airlock the second they don’t need them, and do it again the second they do.

Never forget that even in Star Trek lore, a firearm invented 346 years prior makes absolute short work of the Federation's & the galaxy’s ultimate enemy. It makes everyone else look completely incompetent for never thinking to just shoot the borg with kinetic weapons earlier.

@RoboNuggie @RonaldoRussel My primary desktop machine is FreeBSD 15 / XFCE and works well. GhostBSD, with it's GUI update and software station, seemed a good fit for the Missus, as I wouldn't have to shell into her machine periodically for maintenance tasks. She's a MAC fan, and hates CLI. 2/2

@GeezerMikey @RonaldoRussel Some aspects of the live-session do carry on after install, such as application installation, some do not - such as some settings etc... it's not persistent like NomadBSD, can I ask which settings app didn't respond?

@RoboNuggie @RonaldoRussel The 'Mouse and Touchpad' app. After a bare-metal installation, I set the cursor theme and size. After a reboot, the cursor reverted to default. Opened the app and found it size dialog would not respond to clicks on the +/- fields or cursor theme selection dialog box. 1/2

@RoboNuggie @RonaldoRussel In my experience, the XFCE4 flavor of GhostBSD 26.1 needs more work. The live system worked well, but post-install mouse cursor settings reverted to default after a reboot and the settings app was unresponsive. FreeBSD 15 is fine on the same box. (Dell precision T1700)

1. This is the most calm NCO coaching/teaching I've ever seen. 2. Put your feet on the tripod and pull - helps a lot if you're injured/weak/etc... 3. How does a male pass a PT test but can't charge a M2? If I remember (been a while) the TM says it's like ~50/60lbs to charge it and I'd bet this one is worn so probably less force is actually required Run your heavy machine guns & workout accordingly... #army #M2 #browning #privates #soldier #WTF #fail #learning #education #50cal #50bmg

@PrometheanActn Yep, a promise kept. Technically, there's still Federal Income Tax on Social Security, but the "enhanced senior deduction" reduced my Federal Income Tax liability (for the first time since 1970) to ZERO!

@truthstreamnews Yeah, I knew that. I also know the carriage was powered by a single-use battery, as lead-acid batteries wouldn't be available until a couple decades later. Perhaps (a non-fictional) Daniel Shipstone is now busy inventing the power-storage gadget that will change the world.

Spent the night in research. Did you know the first electric carriage was invented in the 1830s? I didn't. More electric cars were sold than any other type in 1899 and 1900, and by 1903, London had more electric cars than internal combustion vehicles on its roads. Here's a car charging in 1911:

Fuck you Joe Rogan. You want to talk about all that shit Canada did during covid? Fact: 1.23 million Americans died from Covid during the pandemic. Fact: 60,000 Canadians died from Covid during the pandemic. Americans were about 140% more likely to die from COVID than Canadians during the pandemic.🖕

For the first time since 1970, my Federal Income Tax liability is ZERO. It turns out, the "Enhanced Senior Deduction" was better than the "no tax on Social Security" scheme, as it also wiped-out any tax liability on my corporate pension payments.

The CBP One app was originally created to streamline trucking cargo for vehicles crossing the border. The Biden admin altered it to allow 50,000-60,000 otherwise inadmissible aliens from around the globe to enter the U.S. every single month for two years straight.

@BillMelugin_ @monnakll CBP One App was rolled out in Oct of 2020. So Trump created the app.

Hey Bill, Marsha, get behind this! @SenatorHagerty @MarshaBlackburn
DataRepublican (small r)@DataRepublican

Hello Senator Thune, Let's expose what you're really doing with "reconciliation." You announced it yesterday, eleven months after the House passed the SAVE America Act. You're not trying to pass this bill. You're trying to kill it in a way you can blame on process. Here's how we know: Reconciliation requires the Senate parliamentarian to rule that provisions are "budgetary." Citizenship verification is not budgetary. Photo ID mandates are not budgetary. The parliamentarian will gut the bill. Then you'll shrug and say "we tried." We see through you. Meanwhile, you WON'T use the tools that actually work: Rule XIX limits each senator to two speeches per legislative day. Keep the Senate in continuous session, file cloture daily, and the filibuster exhausts in ~12-20 days. You dismissed it as "complicated." Because if you tried and succeeded, you'd have to actually pass the bill. Harry Reid nuked the filibuster in 2013 when he wanted results. Mitch McConnell changed Senate rules THREE times and canceled the August recess. Chuck Schumer used reconciliation within months on a 50-50 Senate. You have 53 seats. You've changed nothing, canceled nothing, and waited eleven months. Now let's talk donors: • Goldman Sachs: $150K to you - top H-1B user • Google: $75K - lobbies against E-Verify • Meta: $72.5K - Zuckerberg's FWD[.]us pushes mass immigration • Wells Fargo: $90K - banks undocumented immigrants Same corporations sponsor Punchbowl News, where you sit for "Fly Out Days" which nobody watches except Congress staffers and K Street lobbyists who pays premium bucks for legislative intelligence. Their reporter then telegraphs to the audience the SAVE Act "will ultimately fail." Corporate money flows to you AND to the outlet that frames your inaction as inevitable. We see the loop. You called grassroots anger a "paid influencer ecosystem." YOU are the paid influencer. You take the wrong side of a 80% issue because you are indistinguishable from a K Street mouthpiece, and an ineffective one to boot who won't bend the rules to get anything passed. What we want: 1. Force a real talking filibuster. 2. Stop hiding behind process. 3. Pass the SAVE America Act. YOU will become the reason that we will have our butts kicked in midterms. Not Candace Owens, not Nick Fuentes, not anyone else. You and you alone, and all because you want to make the 200 or so viewers of Punchbowl Fly Out Days happy. You're living in a K Street information bubble, addicted to the comforts and praises of lobbyists masquerading as journalists. You mistake the steak and martini dinners you get invited to as your own constituents. You are not "moderate." The SAVE America Act has 98% support among Republicans. Name one other thing that has 98% support. You are an extreme minority who prides himself on being a calm leader, when in reality you are well in the running for the most ineffective Majority leader of all time. Prove me wrong. Do the bare modicum of effort. Not symbolic. Actual effort. Cancel the recess. Get SAVE America Act passed.

What the actual hell are you talking about????!!! You promised families would save $2,500 a year on premiums. Individual market premiums increased 105% in just the first four years. Over the life of your law, premiums are up over 220% "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan." You said that over and over. You knew it wasn't true. And when 7 million people had their plans canceled, you just... moved on. No accountability. And the fraud. Let's talk about the fraud. 6.4 million Americans were improperly enrolled in enhanced tax credits... ...costing taxpayers $27 BILLION!!!!! Another 1.6 million were simultaneously collecting both Medicaid AND ACA subsidies!!!! You didn't make healthcare affordable. You made lying about healthcare affordability look easy. And apparently that's still free...

The day the Affordable Care Act passed was one of my proudest moments as president, because it meant that millions of Americans would have access to health care, some for the first time. The ACA also prevented insurance companies from denying people with pre-existing conditions coverage, allowed young people under the age of 26 to remain on their parents’ plan, expanded Medicaid, and so much more. But the ACA was always meant to be a first step. We still have to do more to expand access and make health care more affordable for everyone.
