yah, Base could definitely release a token at some point BUT it totally doesn't need to and could just keep printing money from a growing transaction fee base while building a healthy eocsystem as a massive center of gravity within the broader Ethereum ecosystem imo, that's the REAL long-term play. sure, token games net you a windfall today, but building something that lasts on Ethereum like this could be priceless and i would actually like to see MORE approaches to L2s without tokens as imo it creates a much stronger incentive to scale rapidly and productively while supporting a healthy ecosystem
