@rootcausesleuth @_jonbowlin Except he can't violate his own character and nature and sinning would do that so... He can't actually. Not a forced limitation kind of can't, but a logical kind of can't.
English

God is not metaphysically UNABLE to sin.
Jesus could have sinned.
But neither of them would or will. Because it’s against their character of love.
Jesus’ perfect life was a victory precisely because he COULD HAVE sinned.
He was made like us in every way, except he didn’t choose sin.

Did Jesus Christ, during his life on earth, have the ability/capability/capacity to sin?
English

@burralamp @nonregemesse Everyone I've ever talked to about it online and in real life agreed it was a terrible change to the last scene.

@nonregemesse It's bizarre, nobody I know in real life has a problem with Chani, but on twitter everyone complains about her.
English

Given how annoying she is in this, why would Paul be so loyal to her and neglect his non-shrewish wife?
Elijah the Middleborne@TheMiddleborne
Just every time the camera goes to Chani it completely breaks the scene. She’s insufferable in this.
English

@xagreat 1) He did, on the road to Damascus
2) He wrote half the New Testament, which is only a third of the Bible. So...a sixth of the Bible.
English

@rootcausesleuth @_jonbowlin I think it's just another way of saying Jesus could not have sinned. I agree with the emphasis it's due to God's nature.
English

@_jonbowlin I see. I don’t disagree. I just think saying can’t gives the wrong impression.
Won’t, imo, is more clear. 👍🏾
English

@rootcausesleuth This isn't a gotcha, I sincerely hope this helps you understand the other position better in light of your own revelations.
English

@rootcausesleuth Man is not metaphysically UNABLE to not sin.
Man can not sin.
But none of them didn't or won't.
Because it's in their character of disobedience.
Man's sinful life can be condemned precisely because he COULD HAVE not sinned.

@NewProgressUSA @zachleft AI needs resources. Resources aren't open source.
English

@zachleft Except AI is open source. Unlike other 'machines' and technological advancements of the past, it was almost immediately accessible to everyone.

Can we please stop this nonsense?
Easter was Ester, which was a translation by Tyndale into English, from the month of Pascha, which was a month likely named for a pagan goddess, Eostre.
Just like most of the month names you use every single day.
Easter just means Passover.
For the LOVE of YAH@FortheLOVEofYAH
Please stop listening to your church and just read your Bible! 🙏🏼
English

@FortheLOVEofYAH The word Easter was literally a translation of Pesach into old English.
You're literally just saying passover twice. It's nonsensical.
Learn how language works.

@wordy_fiend @DPGBehler @Soteriology101 @rootcausesleuth Yes, I don't think the phrase "chose us in Him" supports any position more than the other.
Yes, I think the overall meaning of Eph 1 supports monergism.
I don't think these are blessings given to those who are believers, I think they are blessings given which INCLUDE belief.
English

@Generally_aware @DPGBehler @Soteriology101 @rootcausesleuth Correction. You do think Calvinism is more likely, and that the “context” supports it. Never mind.
English

@Generally_aware @HMBohemond Paul literally dies by walking into the desert, though he follows the Fremen tradition
You asked what Paul's end is. That is where Paul's story ends
"You dont know what youre talking about" Alright
English

@Generally_aware @HMBohemond Pretty sure from what others have said
Paul walks himself out into the desert and dies alone in exile, he backs off the golden path etc
English

@Tommy_Nicoletti @HMBohemond 😆 Tell me more about how Paul ends
English

@Generally_aware @HMBohemond He is literally written with this arc in mind
STARTS AS A HERO - ENDS AS A VILLAIN
English

@Tommy_Nicoletti @HMBohemond Yeah but this is also a very shallow reading. Paul isn't meant to be the hero but he's not meant to be the villain either. He's actually a victim of prescience and determinism.
He's a tragic failed hero because he's not willing to do what Leto then does.
English

@HMBohemond You realize Frank Herbert disagrees with you right and so does Denis
Paul is not meant to be a hero as such he is a villain the holy war is a bad thing etc
English

@wordy_fiend @DPGBehler @Soteriology101 @rootcausesleuth It's a completely novel understanding of the grammar of that verse. As far as I can tell it only arose as a counter argument to the equally improper reading of "to be in him".
But at least the "to be" in him has the logical backing by implication from the following passage.
English

@wordy_fiend @DPGBehler @Soteriology101 @rootcausesleuth Can point you to numerous scholarly discussions on how these dative phrases work in various New Testament applications such as the other passages I cited.
My point was the reading that the choice is picking from those who are in Christ is completely foreign and invalid.
