Would you hire an employee that randomly hallucinated? Imagine a brilliant employee who consistently delivers impressive work, but also has episodes of random hallucinations leading to them confidently presenting a mix of accurate data and complete fabrications that are not easily noticed without careful examination. If such this disqualifies a human candidate, why do people hyping AI readily ignore similar – and potentially unsolvable – hallucination issues in AI when it comes to replacing human jobs? I get why AI is exciting. AI is remarkably effective at acquiring tacit knowledge rather than relying on hard coded procedures and does so by learning by example, gains mastery without explicit instruction, and acquires capabilities that it was not explicitly engineered to possess. Despite all of that, I feel that AI is still just a tool to augment our work, not replace the workers.

SharePoint users should beware since audit logs on the platform have proved relatively simple to circumvent, meaning malicious actors could exfiltrate your data without tipping off your security team. If you're hoping that Microsoft will act quickly to fix the matter, don't.... theregister.com/2024/04/10/mic…

If we are talking about min server spec required to run cPanel 2GB Ram, 50-100 GB OS Drive, 2vCPU. That's just for cPanel/ whm to run on top of OS. Then what ever the hosted app requires + what ever the resources needed to handle the number of simultaneous connections to the host.

Carl Weathers will always be a legend. An extraordinary athlete, a fantastic actor, and a great person. We couldn’t have made Predator without him. And we certainly wouldn’t have had such a wonderful time making it.

Dropbox continues to completely miss the mark. I just wanted my files. Synced. I would remain a paying customer forever. But not if they play with my data. arstechnica.com/?p=1990819

Google Drive appears to have lost some of it's users files per their support post with more and more people joining in the dataloss discussion. This is a reminder that just because it's in some cloud service you pay for, you still should have a backup either on site or backed up to another service. As a Google Workspace user I have been using Synology to backup all my data just in case, but thus far I have not been impacted by this. I do have a video showing how to use Synology for backing up both Google & Office 365 here: youtu.be/Yb2UUUnF0hc?si… And here is the Google support link with users and Google discussing the situation: support.google.com/drive/thread/2…

@TomLawrenceTech 😆 can't get approval for down time to patch something that could potentially bring down the entire organisation for who knows how long!? Not to mention if breached may never get them out of the ORG. Sounds like they need an unplanned outage to see how quick the recovery is?

"The cybersecurity reality we live in now is teenagers are running around in organized crime gangs with digital bazooka’s. They probably have a better asset inventory of your network than you, and they don’t have to wait 4 weeks for 38 people to approve a change request for patching 1 thing." If you think that patching critical public facing infrastructure within 24hrs is not a realistic goal then tell me why! Despite all the security awareness we have here in 2023, all the new fancy tools we have, and all the celebration of coordinated government take downs of threat actor groups, cybercrime gangs are still on the rise hitting more companies and making more money than ever this year. You need to be able to identify and patch something like CitrixBleed within 24 hours — if you cannot, there is a very real possibility it isn’t the ideal product fit for your company due to the level of risk it poses, and you need to rethink if the architecture and look for a solution you can manage. The LockBit ransomware group has assembled a strike team to breach banks, law firms and governments and I don't see this stopping anytime soon. Follow this link for Kevin Beaumont's @GossiTheDog deeper dive into the topic: doublepulsar.com/lockbit-ransom…
