"The fact is that Trump is far more reckless, unstable, and detached from reality than Richard Nixon was in 1974." - @BillKristol is not afraid of the "i" word. thebulwark.com/p/trump-is-not…

This is true. Delta & United made almost all of the profit for the U.S. airline industry last year & look set to continue. The market has shifted & they were ready. The demise of JetBlue & Spirit will raise fares. It’s not great, but I’m not sure anything can be done.

The most anti-Catholic administration in over a century.

If the UK joined the US as the 51st state. We would be the poorest state in the entire union. Mississippi which is portrayed at swamp dwelling hillbillies in majority of international media is above us. I don’t think people grasp how far we’ve fallen in real terms when it comes to GDP per capita. We’ve seen no growth for almost an entire generations. We’ve seen our productivity decrease and our tax increases. The average person on the UK, on £50,000 is less well off than your average Mississippi swamp dweller.

The fact that he keeps using Lebanon as a positive example of Muslims and Christians living together, when the Christian population there has been persecuted and reduced to just 30% of the country, is an issue. He seems to always grade Islam on a curve.

Professor Robert Pape: For 50 years, America’s number one goal in the Middle East has been to prevent an oil hegemon. That means control over the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has never been an oil hegemon before. Now it is. Twenty percent of the world’s oil flows through Hormuz, more than the 16% the United States produces. So now Iran has more influence over oil prices than anyone else. They’re leveraging that for geopolitical gain with countries like India and others. They’re also making money, about $1.5 billion so far from this oil. The funds are sitting in Chinese banks, so we can’t seize them. And if this continues for another six weeks, another six months, then Iran will not only be an oil hegemon but one with nuclear capability. At that point, the balance of power will change dramatically.

Exclusive: European countries are planning a post-war mission to free up shipping in the Strait of Hormuz—excluding the U.S. on.wsj.com/4crG4k0
