In this week's ep, we talk about how anything and everything's on the table with Christmas romance books -- from odd Krampus smut to Santa Daddies to ...christmas ornaments with protection???? Listen here open.spotify.com/episode/5ApRPv… and everywhere, really.

@zplerhop @user84829272 That’s how I felt reading it haha, probably more delicious
English

@user84829272 Why would you eat turkey when you could have carne asada.
English

@wedrifid @NoNonsenseND Satire but then you read some of the comments underneath from people who aren’t satire and it’s like….dude if you have an office with a door that shuts don’t come out and tell people working in cubicles/common spaces how to create a focused environment for themselves
English

@NoNonsenseND Is that Karen satire or for real?
Hard to tell. It's simultaneously toxic ignorance yet common practice.
English

@brendonsinclair @hr_unhinged I think it’s really funny that you commented this on what is clearly an HR parody account where the profile says they only slept with the boss twice haha
English

@hr_unhinged I'm sure everyone will pile on, Karen, but this kills productively and creativilty (if that's needed) in an office. Sure, they're "Just listening to music", but it sends signals to everyone of "Don't interrupt me." Kills a business's output.

I noticed one employee wearing noise-canceling headphones.
Not earbuds.
The big, cushioned over-ear kind that create a tiny personal universe.
I asked if everything was alright.
He said yes, he’s just trying to focus.
I told him we value focus, but isolation can misread as resistance to collaboration.
He said he’s literally sitting at his desk doing his job.
I told him we track human presence, not just output.
He asked how presence is measured.
I said imperfectly, which is why it's so important.
Then I logged “avoiding spontaneous culture building opportunities” in his engagement profile.
English

@AgeofAutism @hr_unhinged It’s a parody account, the handle is hr_unhinged and profile says she only slept with her boss twice
English

@hr_unhinged Troubling. This could be a great worker who also happens to be on the autism spectrum, or has other sensory issues. So unless his job is to greet customers like a cruise ship social director a la Julie McCoy, I'd consider the headphones an accommodation not a personal affront.
English

@adoniscyril @hr_unhinged It’s a parody account - her handle is hr_unhinged and her profile says only slept with the boss twice
English

@hr_unhinged blocking this account so i never have to read anything so traumatic ever again
English

@mkwest1005 I can’t tell if it’s passive dunk on cutesy romance or just a very sincere explanation of why she couldn’t give a rec but I love it regardless 🤣🤣 …and I’d rec Katherine Center for low spice and Meghan Quinn for high spice in the cute/easy category
English

@1littlepiglet I didn’t know I liked pet rabbits until I saw your little cutie patootie!!!
English

@itsosadly Who on earth at People made that decision...but also dislike him a little less for that response haha.
English

@Carlynotcarley 💯 My real world is much better than the average US kindergartener’s real world
English

@niccruzpatane Chris Bakke posts satirical posts. That particular post is satire. Hope that helps.

@Gibberlinked @LNHolmeswriter If you do actual research on this, you will find that being pirated is not a good thing and takes income away from authors. ...Your argument is like saying stealing a shirt from a clothing store is a good thing because people might see it and buy it.
English

@LNHolmeswriter It is actually good to be pirated as it leads to more knowledge of you. If you look up the research on this you will find that being pirated is actually a good thing. Those readers would never have bought your book anyway.
English

@LauraE_27 @DrStorytime @LibOrNormal You're right, I can be clearer - I don't think it's an accepted practice for one adult to do this to another adult who misbehaves. Yes, it happens, but it's illegal and the person is arrested if it's caught on camera.
English

@GirlPodcasters @DrStorytime @LibOrNormal I didn’t say it’s right. But you said adults don’t get punished for bad behavior, when in fact they can and do
English

@BenD1040 It's technically a relative of the mosquito, I think, the chocolate midge - here are some articles so you don't have to go off a smut podcaster's word about it haha christensensplantcenter.com/news/redeeming… sandiegozoowildlifealliance.org/story-hub/2024…
English

@ehsleeta Romance print sales pulled the entire publishing industry into the black last year -- publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/in… -- not bad for some weak sparks
English

@LauraE_27 @DrStorytime @LibOrNormal Heard of it? Absolutely. Thought it was okay? No. None of us would want the violence seen in this video done to us. So, no, I don't want it done to a child, either. Research consistently shows corporal punishment is ineffective and harms kids, surprised this is an argument.
English

@GirlPodcasters @DrStorytime @LibOrNormal you’ve never heard of someone running their mouth and getting knocked out as an adult ?
English

@girdley Hahaha this is fair, mosquitoes, gotta do your thing in North America!
English

@GirlPodcasters When they start growing chocolate in Texas, I will really care!

@washghost1 Today I learned what a traffic break is
