It’s me, the only millennial willing to say I liked Fall Out Boy in 2006 and today in 2026(I have no interest in anything after Folie A Deux). I will not pretend to hate things that are millennial coded just because it’s en vogue with people 10 years younger than me.

@planefag the lawyer was a bad ass and fought a raptor too if i'm remembering correctly.
English

Fun fact, in the book he survives. He vanishes in this scene but pops up later. Does not evac on the chopper with the rest - he fights his way off the island alone.
cinesthetic.@TheCinesthetic
Robert Muldoon in Jurassic Park (1993) spends the entire movie being the only person who fully understands how dangerous the raptors are, then still gets outsmarted and killed by them anyway.

@JoshMoonStudies I'm not sure that i've ever more then lightly chuckled at anything sam hyde has ever made and i think that is common among people who watch his content.

@Outlier_Dubius @dissidentwest The brick stuff was moldy trash due to how they processed it. It's like longing for a can of 3.2 beer that some one tobacco spit in.
English

@dissidentwest Yeah it will take a little longer. Beer always made it worse for me. I might have a little milk or something. It's a bit of a mindset thing. Weed these days is way different than the stoney Mexican brick stuff. Bigger stimulant, bigger brain dependance.

@FormerlyFormer I think the same thing happened to refrigeration coolant long ago.

Over 10 yrs ago my asthma inhaler went generic and became cheap. But the govt said the propellant was bad for the environment, mandated a new type, and I was back to buying branded for $$$$. Recently that new type went generic as well. Cheap again! Yay! Except now the govt says this propellant is *also* unsafe, and will be banning it, forcing everyone to buy a (patented of course) newer more expensive type yet again. Funny how the timing works that drugs become “unsafe/environmentally bad” juuuust as the pharmaceutical patents run out. Very curious, that.

@OpeSyntax It wasn't filmed there and took zero influence from the actual city. There weren't any wiggers in gummo.

growing up as a young autist who refused to listen to “pop music”, i hated with such reckless scorn the strange affected nasally voice all these bands did, the “blink 182” voice… it was a mystery to me why the jocks and cool kids liked groups who literally sounded like fаggоts

@wyatt01121 @escapefrommelos pop punk is inherently gay and blink is the gayest of the gay.

@adrian_wil38851 @SongsInCWC yep. I would say he's drinking more, but definitely needs that opening salvo to stop the shakes and feelings of impending doom.
English

@SongsInCWC He can slam a wake up shot or two of fireball to stave off the shakes, and then be hammered by noon.

A lot of people seem confused about Jer's decision to shift his show to 9am; it doesn't seem like a good timeslot for anything. But I think people are missing something: there's a logic to it, if you view it through the lens of addiction.
If Jer wakes up at 8:30am and there's a one hour show at 2pm, he has to stay relatively sober for 6.5 hours.
If Jer wakes up at 8:30am and there's a one hour show at 9am, he has to stay relatively sober for 1.5 hours.
To someone who isn't an addict, that difference seems insignificant. To an addict, it's huge.

@wesleytypes @TheDavidVinc Just can't stop yourself from being an absolute fag on this app huh wes?

Smashing Pumpkins has a song in the game.
Also, just to clarify, the song choices are framed by the main character as perfect selections for her mixtape, so they came from all over and she explains that. It still definitely gives a '90s vibe even if they're not all explicitly popular '90s songs.
English

In regards to Mixtape - since that's all I see everyone talking about, I'll just say this. I'm the target audience, I graduated High School in 2000 afterall, so yeah, I was a teenager in the 90s. So I think it's pretty telling that the ONLY song on the entire soundtrack that I've actually heard was one from the 60s, "Have You Seen Her".
I don't know what radio stations they were listening to, but I certainly wasn't listening to that noise. Where's Hole, the Foo Fighters, GreenDay, Offspring, Radio Head, The Smashing Pumpkins, REM? - and that's just off the top of my head.

@LVpolitic I'm at the bar to see my friends, not the fuckin bartender. How emotionally needy are you people that you need a full interaction with some asshole handing you a beer?
English

80% of going to a bar is to socialize… that’s why good bartenders make $40-$50/ hour. Nobody going to pay retail pour prices to be served by a robot.

@nickshirleyy i don't give a fuck. Why are you in cuba and not in the US?
English

🚨Inside Communist-Controlled Cuba:
As Cuba faces its largest humanitarian crisis in years amid growing tensions with the US, I went to see what 60+ years of communism has done to a country.
Within 24 hours I was planning my escape out of the country after being followed by their intelligence agents, and a 2 star general waited to interrogate me outside my hotel room at 4 AM. Right now Cuba has no oil or gas, 7/10 people are going hungry, there is no medicine and some haven't even had eggs in a year.
In communism there is no freedom of speech or press, and I was almost taken hostage for asking about communism. This is a look into Cuba like never before, no one truly knows how bad it is until now.

@bizlet7 The thing is, the sound and production can be matched perfectly now, but the band members bring no swagger. The new ideas can come with the lyrics, the looks, and the antics... some niggαs call it "creativity"
English

I don’t see why people are bashing them.
Rock is a retro genre now. Everything that could be done has been done. A new rock band is inevitably going to sound like an old rock band.
