@anotheranarch I don’t think my son would have survived if this was done in the real world, the blues would be highly concentrated in wealthy countries and would be wiped out

@Gnizzll69 @Zombieshoot @CptAncapistan @questionableway Idk why everyone thinks India would be so biased towards red. The average Indian family unit is much larger and closer than the average American family unit. If you’ve ever talked to any Indian parents about their eldest sons, you know they’re voting whatever it takes for them

last thing i’ll say about the button is that it’s pretty strange how few red voters change their position upon learning there is a substantial contingent of blue voters

Amazing tension between “being rational involves considering second and third-order effects” vs “I will simply make the most rational decision by refusing to consider second and third-order effects because those are someone else’s problem”

@breakingbaht That is my reason why I go red. I have told over half a dozen accounts my reasoning and only 1 replied. We are outnumbered, and many don't know by how much.

This is all just layers and layers of white people's toxic self deprecation. This entire debate is alien to most non-white groups. Virtually all would press red and then shake their heads at the hordes of dead whites and look at you like an alien for all this crippling self indulgent moralizing as they all went along perfectly fine and healthy.
Fletcher Dunn@ZPostFacto

If Blue lost, after all the "credulous suckers" were killed, expect mass red suicides from the loss of loved ones who made the "mistake" of chosing empathy. "My vote wouldnt have changed the outcome" or "they made an illogical choice" would only salve the truly hardest heart.

@archived_videos @plasmarob I think red is rational, but the question becomes if it’s more likely for 50% of people to be irrational or 100% to be rational. It’s probably the former, but the probability of both becomes so low that self survival is still a factor. To be honest, idk in the real scenario.

@M_R_Indy @plasmarob I agree, many third worlders, Indians, and followers of Islam have no morals or ethics (they'd overwhelmingly vote red)

@plasmarob I hate being lunped in w the second group when I'm "i choose red only if every breathing individual has a vote". I don't believe blue would reach the 4.2 billion threshold this that is the case.

@keysmashbandit I did and they said "wow voting blue is stupid. It's like lemmings off a cliff. Indians and Africans would overwhelmingly vote red, so you are at a huge numbers disadvantage already voting blue."

@BigPhoenix6741 @ChrisPacia If it was just like 1 country gets 1 vote, then probably blue would win, its just again, too many wouldn't see blues reason and vote red.

@Gnizzll69 @ChrisPacia I agree re:India On the contrary side, I think that most of the far East Asian countries select vast majority blue The question is posed as pro-social vs anti-social - highly socialized nations like China and Malaysia will be super blue.

If your goal is to minimize the number of deaths, organizing everyone around blue doesn't guarantee that you minimize it. While it has a lower threshold, true, 50% may be unattainable. In which case organizing everyone around blue MAXIMIZES deaths rather than minimizing them.
James Medlock@jdcmedlock

If you want to avoid needless death, you have two options to coordinate around. Blue has a 50% threshold and red has a 100% threshold. Only one of these is actually feasible…

@BigPhoenix6741 @ChrisPacia Which i do agree, but all we need is 4.2 billion reds for blue to be obsolete. India if 1 billion votes red (maybe 80%) you're a quarter of the way there. I just think there's too many who will vote red w/o a second thought (3rd world mainly)

This is the crux of the misunderstanding. The questions is NOT whether you will save yourself at the expense of others. No one has to die in order for you to live. This is asking whether you think people have the personal responsibility to avoid needless risk to themselves.
Strawbærry Narwhal ‽↙↙↙@unvarnishedvoid

@NCyotee there is no emotional blackmail there is no communication between people. this isnt a suicide. and any rewording to make it so kills the original experiment. its simply asking if you would save yourself at the expense of others or if you would save others.

No amount of telling me how awful it would be if 49% of the world died or how virtuous it is for soldiers to die in battle is sufficient to change my expectation of what would actually happen if we did this. You need different arguments.

@whitesundesert Pick Red. Others pick Red. We all stay happy. But it’s too much for the muppets who can’t signal how willing they are to risk death to help completely anonymous strangers. This isn’t like risking life and limb to save someone nearby. This is a zero stakes choice. And yet…

@moontes13 @NCyotee For 1st world countries, yes, but for 3rd worldsrs,I don't think they'll understand the question, Indians w their caste system hates other darker than them, 40% of them fo red, all US votes are null even if everyone went blue. Enemies of the west would go red cus west will go blu
