The truck driver reported the cop's abrupt complete stop (brake check) to a sergeant on bodycam while hauling cargo. He was issued a citation and said he'd take the footage to court. No public updates yet on any discipline for the cop or the court outcome — these cases often drag on with dashcam evidence favoring the driver.

@JSwitch56 @firefox Hey now, it wasn't totally empty, there were lots of pedos

@paulsaladinomd How do you find a wood cutting board that isn't doused in epoxies or other plasticizers?
English

5 things worth the money:
-grass-fed, grass finished beef: less pesticides, more vitamins, better for you/planet
-le creuset cookware: lasts forever, teflon is garbage
-yu kurosaki knives: the pleasure of cutting steak with a primo knife on a wood cutting board...
-home air filter: stop breathing bad air indoors, keep the PM 2.5 low
-wool boxers for guys: plastic on your junk is lame

@thecruice She wasn’t able to get onto the portal because you need a LA license, which she hasn’t had for years.
She eventually got through to someone but took a whole lot of phone calls

Wife: Checks bank account and see it’s frozen by Louisiana for unpaid taxes
*calls Louisiana government*
Govt: You owe us $3,000 from 2014
Wife: I didn’t even live in the state in 2014. Also, I got zero notice before you froze the account.
Govt: We’ve been sending you notices.
Wife: To where?
Govt: An address in Dallas
Wife: I haven’t lived there in 6 years. Also, you sent me a bill for Louisiana taxes to a Dallas address?
Govt: Haha, yeah.
Wife: Ok, can I check a portal or something to see where this is coming from?
Govt: Not really, just pay us.

@SacAppraiser The generation who is 65+ always owns the lions share of the wealth. Here's how it was in 1990 -- boomers had almost nothing.

English

@ItIsHoeMath @Hitchslap1 @allie__voss Awesome that you pay attention to this HM - beef centric carnivore diet is where it's at nowadays for numerous reasons
English

The macros are similar except for the balance of omega-6 to Omega-3. The same is true of farm-raised and wild caught salmon. I find the farm-raised to be much more delicious, but it is loaded with omega-6, which is already much too abundant in the western diet.
The micronutrients and pollutants are where the big difference is. Grass-fed is more holistic and pure. It has more of the finer nutrients that your body needs, because it ate things that are closer to the Natural nutrient cycle rather than a controlled Farm environment.
Slop-fed Meat and Fish is usually tastier for the same reason that onion rings are tasty, and less healthy for the same reasons.
If you think of beef as just "fat and protein," then the difference is the omega-3 to omega-6 balance.
If you think of beef as "a cluster of cells from an organism," you can start to envision more significant differences in the cellular ecology based on the different diet.
In other words, you want your meat to be from a healthy animal. You can get delicious meat from an unhealthy animal, but you're kind of tasting its diet of the cow equivalent of onion rings
English

I don't care about the marbling, I care about the omega-6 to omega-3 ratio, the vitamin E, the CLA, the beta-carotene, and the B vitamins
And I care about metabolic, neurologic, cardiovascular, and immune health more than about the taste
Hitchslap@Hitchslap1
Unpopular opinion: Grain fed steak is way better than grass fed. It’s more tender with more marbling. Enough with the grass fed propaganda.

@aruvinchan Creating more work for the customer is poor customer service
English

@GoalBlogs Here's a groundbreaking suggestion:
Let the customer ask for the check when they're ready.
Barcelona, Spain 🇪🇸 English

One of the biggest culture shocks when I moved to the US was this:
One of my first jobs was being a server, and what my manager taught me shocked me.
He told me, "When the customers have finished their food, clear their plates and give them the check."
Where I came from, that would be considered extremely rude.
It's like telling them to fuck off.
And guess what?
When I started to dine out in America, that's exactly what happened too.
Servers dropped the check insultingly soon -- sometimes before I even finished my food.
It always pissed me off, because it came across as a passive-aggressive way to tell me to pay up and fuck off.
I always put it aside and not touch it until I was ready to leave.
I didn't care if there was a line or they needed to "turn over tables."
Not my fucking problem.
In just about any other country in the world, people eat out and sit for hours and enjoy their meal with friends and family.
In the US, you have an unspoken 1-hour time limit (1.5 hours if it's a buffet).
Definitely in Spain, people sit and chat for hours at restaurants and cafes.
It's pretty much the national pastime.
The US is all about rushing you through your meal, and then charging you tax and tip on top of the sticker price like the dishonest pricks they are.

@SacAppraiser You must have been sardonically linked somewhere external and got a flood of haters. Because these responses make no sense otherwise.

A wholesaler sends you a deal.
You run your numbers. Looks good.
You go out to it, confirm the rehab, everything works.
But you can't get yourself to pull the trigger.
Then the deal sells and you tell yourself, "Guess it just wasn't meant to be."
You're lying to yourself.
You let fear stop you from making money.
Sometimes you just have to take the leap and figure it out along the way.
You're never going to feel 100% confident starting anything.
Every successful real estate investor has been right there in your same position, but they decided to take the step forward and then did it again and then again, and eventually the nerves went away.
English

@opinioncasino Nothing like that has happened since the internet was invented, calm down grandpa

What are you people with real money doing posting on social media? Are you trying to put a giant fucking target on your back? There is literally negative upside here.
The whale the never surfaces is never harpooned. And all you idiots trying to get a little bit of social gratification are about to nuke yourselves. The pitch forks and nooses will emerge eventually in our lifetimes and guess who the poor always go after first in a political revolution. That’s right, the wealthy.
And you morons documenting your entire life on social media have created the biggest target known to man. If a political revolution comes, and it will, you idiots are done for.
Oh yeah and don’t use the argument that it could never happen in the United States, the greatest country in the world. Because it definitely could. You fucking dunces just don’t know history. It happens time and time again.
1) France (1789–1799) — The Revolution and Reign of Terror executed thousands of aristocrats, clergy, and eventually the king and queen by guillotine.
2) Russia (1917–1920s) — The Bolsheviks executed the Romanov royal family and killed or exiled nobles, landowners (“kulaks”), and the bourgeoisie during the Red Terror and after.
3) China (1949 onward) — The Communist revolution led to land reform campaigns where an estimated 1–2 million landlords were executed; the Cultural Revolution later targeted “class enemies” again.
4) Cambodia (1975–1979) — The Khmer Rouge went furthest, killing intellectuals, professionals, merchants, and anyone deemed elite — even people wearing glasses — in a genocide of roughly 1.5–2 million.
5) Haiti (1791–1804) — The slave revolution overthrew and largely massacred the French planter class.
I follow some Chinese rich nepo bitch on social media. She documents her entire rich life. Private planes, yachts, mansions. If I was her dad I would immediately remove her from the trust fund. She is literally telling the poors “hey here I am, I’m rich, come get me”.
My future kids will not get any of my money of they document their lives on social media. It’s stupid. It’s negative upside. It’s a target for a political revolution.
The wider the wealth gap gets the more likely a political revolution will happen. So what the fuck are you idiots doing? My god.
