@beyond_fps The pop-in even at absolute highest settings is the worst i have *ever* seen, regardless of game age even from early 2000s, its absolutely disgusting. I really hope developers will address it, its completely unacceptable to have it this bad in 2026..

@gerulis20 @beyond_fps That's because they focused on the game running well on 8GB on PC. This means that memory bandwidth becomes secondary for PC.
Take a look at the console ports. You'll notice that the pop-in is reduced, which really shouldn't be the case for PC players.

You shouldn't be.
Listen, I like DLSS. It's a marvel of modern computing. But this? This will make every game look like a crappy AI face filter was applied. It undermines all of the creative efforts of studios that work so hard designing characters and art. Actual abomination.

Important update: at the press conference I was able to talk to NVIDIA employees about DLSS5.
They assured me that DLSS5 makes no changes to the characters at all (!), no changes to the assets, and no "AI filter" is applied to the characters. It's solely the lighting that makes it appear that way; they are completely the same, unaltered assets.

The version without DLSS is the farthest from the cinematic model, her face doesn't even have the same shape
the dlss is much closer: same lips, nose, cheekbones, it seems slightly different because of the different light and facial expressio

Jensen Huang has responded to the comments calling DLSS 5 AI slop:
"First of all, they're completely wrong. The reason for that is because, as I have explained very carefully, DLSS 5 fuses controllability of the geometry and textures and everything about the game with generative AI. It’s not post-processing, it’s not post-processing at the frame level, it’s generative control at the geometry level."
He has also added:
"This is very different than generative AI; it’s content-control generative AI. That’s why we call it neural rendering"

@Mcreation86 @ermin_h @TheRedDragon Those path tracing rays can't reach your brain it seems, are you guys mentally challenged? IT FUCKING changes the shape of things. It takes the face, make a new one with gen ai and glues that on top of the old one trying to minimize changes.

@ermin_h @TheRedDragon The lip texture is already there, but path tracing rays were so low it didn't get the specular light on there, the same with the eye reflection, it's so occluded the ray didn't get there, eye always have a bright spot, the roots are not dark, those are self shadows
