The passing of Edith Katende Mufumbiro this morning is so painful, especially because of the circumstances that surround it. By the time her husband Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro was arrested last year on trumped up charges, she was on treatment for cancer. Her situation kept deteriorating, and the pressures of her husband’s detention didn’t make things any better. It is sad that Edith is no more, and that Waiswa continues to be jailed for political reasons…words fail us!
