I do not understand how people who work for an organization whose job it is to cover distressing events could demand trigger warnings before discussions of distressing events. The news comes at you. If you work for the Times, you have to engage with it, without warning.

This is purely anecdotal, but I have talked to so many people who voted by mail in previous elections but are waiting to take their daughters to vote in person for Kamala Harris on election day.
