#WorldEarthDay is often framed as a reminder or a warning. To us, it is a record of work already done. Over 17 years, Green Yatra has focused on one idea: Nature does not need saving. It needs systems restored. Because forests, wetlands, and coastlands are not just landscapes. They are systems that regulate: heat, water, carbon, and biodiversity. And when these systems function, climate stops becoming a crisis and starts becoming balance again.

Green Yatra was honoured to host British Diplomat Mr. @J0hnMN (John M.Nickell) from the British Deputy High Commission and Ms. Meher Gandevia at our ecological restoration site in Navi Mumbai 🌿 Once a 40+ Acres dumping ground, Nisarg Udyan has been transformed into a thriving urban ecological forest demonstrating how degraded landscapes can be revived into rich, biodiverse ecosystems. The visit led to an insightful discussion on ecological restoration and innovative plantation techniques being implemented on-site. We also shared how approaches like the Miyawaki method play a crucial role in enhancing biodiversity and mitigating climate change in India and beyond. We sincerely appreciate his interest and recognition of Green Yatra’s efforts towards promoting sustainable environmental restoration and building greener urban ecosystems 🌱 #GreenYatra #NisargUdyan #UrbanForest #MiyawakiForest #BiodiversityRestoration #ClimateAction #Sustainability #NaviMumbai #EcoRestoration

🌿 Walking Through Biodiversity Park 🌿 A meaningful nature trail conducted by Green Yatra in collaboration with our partner Tata AIA Life Insurance at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority. The walk encouraged participants to observe native flora and fauna, understand the importance of biodiversity conservation, and develop a deeper appreciation for the ecosystems around us. Initiatives like these help build awareness and inspire collective action towards protecting our natural environment. 🌍💚 We extend our sincere thanks to the ESG team and enthusiastic volunteers from @TataAIA_Life for joining us and experiencing the vibrant Miyawaki plantation developed jointly by Green Yatra and Tata AIA. We also express our gratitude to @JNPort for their valuable support in making this initiative possible and for helping promote urban biodiversity. 🌱 Together, we have successfully planted 13,620 native saplings across 45+ species, contributing towards restoring biodiversity, improving urban ecosystems, and creating greener spaces for the future. 🌳 Together, we continue to strengthen our commitment to restoring nature and building greener futures. #GreenYatra #TataAIA #NatureTrail #MiyawakiForest #UrbanBiodiversity #CSRImpact #JNPA #GreenerFuture 🌿

Public Urban Forest, Dwarka, Delhi In a city like Delhi, where clean air and open green spaces often feel limited, imagine starting your day with outdoor yoga, meditation, a peaceful forest walk, or even a friendly game of badminton—surrounded by trees and fresh air. At the Public Urban Forest in Dwarka, near N.K. Bagrodia School, this vision has become a reality. What was once a neglected patch of land has now transformed into a vibrant, multi-layered urban forest demonstrating how cities can create space for nature while enhancing public well-being. 🌿 Today, this urban forest is home to 35,000+ native saplings from more than 50 indigenous species, forming a thriving habitat for birds, butterflies, small mammals, insects, and reptiles many of which struggle to survive in dense urban environments. 🐦🦋🦎 Beyond #biodiversity, this green space quietly performs essential ecological functions: • Improves local microclimate and air quality • Supports urban wildlife and pollinators • Provides a natural wellness space for residents and students • Reconnects communities with nature in everyday city life •Plays an important role in reducing the urban heat island effect, naturally cooling the city and improving local climate conditions. More than just a forest, it is a living example of nature-based urban development, where biodiversity, community health, and sustainable cities grow together. 🤝 Grateful to our CSR partner @Haleon_health and @MCD_Delhi (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) for supporting this vision of inclusive and ecological urban transformation. 🌍 A thriving urban forest where people and nature grow together. #GreenYatra #UrbanNature #MiyawakiForest #CityForest #BiodiversityInCities #GreenInfrastructure #DelhiGreens #CSRImpact #NatureForAll 🌿💚

🌍 World Wetlands Day | #BlueYatra 🌿 A Mangrove Plantation, Conservation & Restoration Initiative by Green Yatra On the occasion of World Wetlands Day, Green Yatra successfully conducted a Mangrove Clean-up Drive at Samundraeshwar Shiv Mandir, Seawoods, Navi Mumbai reaffirming our commitment to protecting and restoring vital wetland ecosystems. 🌊🌴 With the collective efforts of passionate volunteers and the valued support of our CSR partner @wwt_inc , we collectively removed 2500+ kgs of waste, helping revive this critical mangrove habitat and protect its rich biodiversity. 💪✨ 🌱 Why Mangroves Matter in the Fight Against Climate Change Mangroves are powerful natural climate warriors. They act as carbon sinks, storing up to four times more carbon than terrestrial forests, helping reduce greenhouse gases. They also protect coastlines from erosion, storm surges, and flooding, while supporting fisheries and coastal livelihoods making them essential for climate resilience. 🌍🌊 🌍 About Blue Yatra Blue Yatra is Green Yatra’s dedicated initiative focused on the conservation, restoration, and protection of blue ecosystems such as mangroves, wetlands, rivers, lakes, and coastal habitats. Through clean-up drives, mangrove plantations, community engagement, and awareness programs, Blue Yatra works to revive degraded aquatic ecosystems and promote sustainable coexistence between people and nature. 🌿💧 Efforts like these not only heal fragile ecosystems but also inspire collective action for long-term environmental stewardship and climate resilience. 🌱🌎 We extend our heartfelt gratitude to WWT and all the volunteers who contributed their time and energy towards preserving our wetlands. Together, every action counts and every step brings us closer to a sustainable future. 🌟💚 📩 Want to be part of the change?
