I’m no expert here but pressures, temperature, vibration. Also it can be several miles long. I imagine maintaining signal quality would be incredibly difficult. And to improve that you’d need expensive metals. So cheaper to wire the pipe. The main concern from a materials perspective is to build tough pipe to withstand those conditions, which wouldn’t lend itself to conductivity (I would say)

@GregSharples @undebeha Wiring the pipe seems expensive, but why not just send electrical signals down the pipe?

til about mud pulse telemetry. drill bits used for oil wells have no direct electrical link to the surface. any sensor that wants to report live telemetry from the bottom of the borehole has to encode that data in pressure pulses sent through the drilling mud up to the surface

@argyriou15 @undebeha Wired pipe does exist these days but quite expensive and mud pulse has proven its magic for a long time!

@undebeha This is cool, but I question "no direct electrical link". Isn't the bit on the end of a string of steel pipe? I work with drillers using similar drilling techniques on a smaller scale, and we have to be careful about buried electrical lines because of risk to the operators.

Nothing too complicated. Original process was export mailbox into files (can do this from most providers) and outputted a csv transaction log from my bank and then put this in the same folder You can open cowork in a folder and just explained what I wanted to do - extract invoice attachments from emails and match to transactions. I asked it to create a tracker spreadsheet which it did Then it just set about working through emails and the transaction history, reading the pdf invoices, then renaming them and filing them by supplier, and updating the tracker. Once it did that I asked it which ones were missing by supplier so I can log in, download the invoices, then just drop them in the chat and it files them on the right place. Genuinely awesome!!

I just left a $3B startups office in London who moved here a month ago I’m so bullish. > @vercel’s recent meet up that had people queuing round the block > @openclaw and @OpenAI event at @imperialcollege with 900 students >We’ve had @DecagonAI, @clay, @RogoAI all open London offices in the past few months alone
GRITCULT@GRITCULT

Every ai company is looking to open an office in London. unreal levels of bullishness here. yet the oversocialised extremely online influencers keep fear mongering about the state of the UK and london....

"YoU pRoMpTeD wRoNg!" "YoUr RePo StRuCtUrE sUcKs!!" It was an empty directory with a single .csv file. I tested the exact same prompt on Codex after and it had no issues. I legitimately hate people like this.

Top Claude Code/ Codex skill hack. Setup an /ask-claude or an /ask-codex skill which calls the cli with the question. Quick and easy way to get Claude to double check with Codex or vv. unbelievable quality improvement - I can quickly validate plans and review changes cross models just by saying “double check that with codex”. Quality of code has gone right up! Also have added minimax and kimi options now for a full suite of consultants

China won. This is another deepseek moment MiniMax 2.5 is now the best model in the world > On par with opus 4.6 > SOTA in coding, excel data analysis, deep research, document generation and summarization > Optimized thinking efficiency + 100 tps to achieve 3x faster than opus > Priced at $0.3/M in / $1.2 out (20x cheaper than Opus 4.6)

I just tried using Gemini in Chrome for the first time. I asked it to go and download a few web pages for me, but apparently it can't download data to my computer because that would "involve compromising system security by circumventing security features". I practically begged it to do it, still no go. It's 2026, all the chronically online AI pundits are assuring us that the takeoff is just months away, but I still can't use ANY of the AI tools in a straightforward way for some very simple tasks that anyone who uses computers on a daily basis does all the time.

My best effort so far: - have built a dev box for running services (psql, redid or whatever) and a tunnel - got a cli tool for branching those services and tunneling dev server to a branch.project..com. Want to release but haven’t had chance! Have been using conductor as it handles the Claude/ terminal/ git process pretty well (pulls in pr comments automatically so can chuck them straight back into Claude), saves on GitHub tabs but is resource heavy

Forcing Claude Code to always use "uv run" is sheer impossible. Regardless of how many times I put it in CLAUDE.md, skills, prompts, it will always fall back to running raw python with pip. Too overfit on it.

@nicochristie @charlieholtz Nice! I’m also using conductor - best tool I’ve found for multi agent so far! We’ve built an internal tool for managing individual dbs etc for each agent so the clashing is not such an issue. Looking for beta testers + feedback if you’re interested! arboretum.sh
