@SarahCholwill As some said, cars to that supermarket are from 'other' sources, and likely have hidden issues. While buying manuf approved isnt 100%, it's better, far better. So if you want a BMW, look at their approved, you may pay more, but they wont quibble like some cowboys.

@SarahCholwill All of these cars have been reliable on the whole and yes we've had some issues - a BMW X3 needed a replacement differential (it whistled!), done by BMW within a week of reporting, paid nothing. A Mini with a broken sunroof - new one installed, paid first £250.

Okay, so my husband and I have just returned from Big Motoring World Norwich where we bought the car. First we were told it all had to be done via some random number to contact head office. Back in the car my husband called the number and the lady said no, BMW have to refund it. We spoke to the sales manager and then somebody more senior. Both were very sympathetic and agreed to our right to reject and have a full refund. The car has gone to their team to confirm the fault and we have walked away. Good job we went today as their policy is to refund within 14 days, which makes it more straightforward (consumer rights support it until 30 days though). Back to the drawing board with cars now but I think we’ve done the right thing. It should be about two weeks for us to get the refund and the man said everything will be refunded. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly 🤔🙏

Thanks to everyone who has advised, sympathised and shared or commented 🙏 . Over 80,000 people have now seen the post and hopefully will not be hoodwinked as we have . We are going to demand a refund under our consumer rights of the right to return a purchase made under 30 days that is not fit for purpose.

@RichFromRail It's a dull, boring and uninspiring livery. Too much dark blue, not enough contrasting colours. When it's dirty or a dull day, it'll be like GWR. A chimp could have come up with a better design. What's worse will be magazines full of samey samey liveries, FFS.

@ZengoMay @BladeoftheS So we should have got them to build it? Let's not forget, it was a project stated by Labour, royally fucked up by the Tories and fawning to their supporters for more tunnel, which has led to the 💩 the project is in today. It is the epitome of piss-poor project management.

Hilariously by the time it opens in 2039 HS2 will be... The most expensive high speed railway in the world. The slowest high speed railway in the world. The longest time to build railway in the world. And the shortest high speed railway in the world. One word, CORRUPTION.

@sideshowbob_md @GordonDimmack You're the clown. Self-driving cars have many faults as clips of a Waymo car stuck in a London street show. They are no where near deployment. The railway has been there since the 1830s, still functions and is more efficient than a car. It's also a mass mover, unlike a car.

@GordonDimmack Absolutely disgusting corruption behind this. Self driving cars are literally ready for deployment and they think a railway linking two stinking turd cities is needed. 🤡

UK news: HS2 could cost up to £102.7bn and may not open until 2039 (BBC) This is Chongqing railway station rebuild in China. It cost £16.5bn and took only around 3 1/2 years to complete. Their high speed rail (350km/hr) cost just £5.9bn and took 6 years

@GrumpyGit1960 They spend 5 grand a pop going on ‘conferences’ together with hotels and 3 course dinners. Then brag about it on LinkedIn. They are robbing our local children. They have no morals.

The third time failed Ofsted inspection Head (Mr Proof of period pains) has zero awareness. 70 staff left in his first year as Head, some walked, some were bullied out. This left him with a huge problem. He can’t see that he is the issue. Narcissistic beyond belief. CEO Lynsey Holzer is negligent for keeping him in his post whilst our local children lose out on quality teaching.

@mopdenson A large chunk of delay was down to people like you who campaigned against HS2, and forced more of the route in tunnel, forced a change in scope, thereby increasing costs and construction time. That said, it's been a piss-poor managed project from day 1.

It's been 15 painful years to get to this point in the #HS2 scandal. With today's announcement it means the section of track in the Chilterns will potentially sit for the next generation without a single train running on it! Yet the site will have to be maintained for future use.

@TeddingtonTAG Of course they'll balloon. Just like HS2, it will involve multiple changes of scope to appease the NIMBYs (and others), come with 24ct gold plating and face an exponential rise in raw material costs. With international rail travel growing, is it really needed?

"BA and other airlines are concerned that the cost of Heathrow’s third runway plans will balloon," Bet they are as likely they will. Alternative scheme championed by BA is also mega expensive, environmentally catastrophic and takes away even more houses telegraph.co.uk/business/2026/…

@straightfromm @KirstieMAllsopp UK phone coverage has degenerated. I've struggled to get a signal in many places on the EE network. No one cares. As for broadband, there's another farce. Was due Jan 26th, still waiting. Openreach dont want to dig. Starlink is too expensive for 100mb/s - and prices risen

@KirstieMAllsopp Is it me has phone network coverage completely collapsed across the entirety of the UK? Trying to conduct business on the move has become essentially impossible

I’m aware I tweet this all the time but it’s probably because I’m on trains all the time PLEASE, please, please spend some of the HS2 money on connectivity/wifi/starlink/whatever it bloody well takes so that it is possible to access modern work tools while on a train 🙏

🚨 BREAKING: Total panic has officially set in. Labour politicians are now openly admitting they are terrified of being completely "wiped out" by Reform UK. After losing major strongholds like Birmingham and Wolverhampton last week, the Labour grassroots are in full meltdown. 🧵👇
