Police quickly and robustly dealt with small incidents of anti-social behaviour on Bank Holiday Monday on Southend seafront - demonstrating their no-tolerance approach. Today officers are once again patrolling the seafront, as well as key areas around train stations in Southend, as a “significant number” of young people plan travel to Southend seafront for a beach party. The gathering has been widely promoted on social media, encouraging people to bring their own drinks. Event posters also claim laughing gas and marijuana will be available for sale. Concerns have also been raised after images circulated allegedly showing youths planning to bring weapons to Southend. Essex Police have confirmed officers will be using a range of powers across the city today to manage any issues, including dispersal orders and enhanced stop and search. Police may also use Section 60AA powers, allowing officers to require face coverings to be removed where they believe they are being used to conceal identity. A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We want to be clear: Southend is a safe and welcoming place. It is not a place for violence, disorder or anti-social behaviour. Anyone coming here intending to commit crime will be dealt with swiftly and robustly. “You will see a significant and highly visible policing presence across the city, supported by live facial recognition technology, to identify those wanted for offences or who pose a risk to public safety. “We are working closely with British Transport Police, Southend City Council, community safety teams and CCTV operators to monitor activity, share intelligence and respond quickly to any emerging issues. “We expect the vast majority of people to enjoy the seafront responsibly. However, those who do not should expect to be identified, stopped and, where appropriate, arrested.”

Six men, including a pair of brothers, who groomed and committed "dreadful" sexual abuse against a vulnerable teenage girl have today been jailed at Bradford Crown Court. The men conducted their abuse in and around Halifax between 2006 and 2009 when the girl was between 13 and 15 years old. West Yorkshire Police launched a complex investigation after the victim spoke to officers in 2019. BREAKING @GBNEWS: Seven men, who are all Afghan nationals and refugees, have been charged with 40 offences after an investigation into an alleged grooming gang in Norwich. Five of the men arrived illegally in Britain by small boat; two by lorry. All of the men have been in the country for several years. One arrived illegally as early as 2020. The charges relate to two victims, who were in their early-to-mid teens at the time of the alleged offences.

Police say she was forced into a van on Bradford Road while walking alone on Monday evening at around 7pm [18th May]. A passerby later heard her terrified screams coming from the vehicle, helping officers locate her in the car park of Cottons Hotel and Spa in Knutsford, Cheshire during the early hours of Tuesday. The 56YO suspect was arrested at the scene and police describe him as a "white man". He remains in custody for questioning.

Ipswich Crown Court gave him just 5 years and 4 months. Five years for attacking kids and using AI to create more child abuse material. Another pathetic sentence for a predator who targeted the most vulnerable. Name him. Share his face. These monsters are using new technology to abuse more children and the system still treats it like a slap on the wrist. Protect our kids.

Net migration for British nationals was negative at minus 136,000, and net migration for EU nationals was also negative at minus 42,000, meaning more people left the UK than arrived in both groups. The fall is substantially driven by British and European citizens leaving the country, not by a reduction in non-EU arrivals. That's not a policy achievement. It's a warning sign about what is actually happening to this country. Non-EU net migration still stands at 350,000. Total long-term immigration to the UK was 813,000 in the year ending December 2025. Nearly a million arrivals in a single year is not a secure Britain. And the net migration figure says nothing at all about illegal immigration. Channel crossings hit 46,000 last year, up on the year before, with the 200,000 cumulative milestone reached this month. Hotel use may be down but those unvetted men have not left. They have been dispersed into communities. This week a BBC undercover team found an established payment system for illegal Channel crossings operating out of a phone shop in Woolwich, with a refund policy if the boat sinks. Assaults on women and girls have risen. The headline is 171,000. The reality is 813,000 arrivals, 46,000 illegal crossings and corner shops processing payments for people smugglers. What this government calls security is a statistical illusion.
