Jamie Carragher said it perfectly. By the end of this month, Mikel Arteta will either be considered a genius or a fraud. Does that not tell you everything that you need to know about how flawed mass narratives are? Also concerning how many intelligent people go along with it…

@TomCantonMedia So so frustrating. Arteta is not helping with his usual answer without answering.

Arteta was asked when will Timber return 3 days ago: "We don't know yet. He's doing some stuff on the pitch at the moment. But we need to get the gears up and be able to do more things before he can come back to us."

Elliot Anderson will go to City for £45m + add ons. Everyone will proclaim how City are excellent at transfers. 20 years later we'll find out that City siphoned funds through intermediaries to make up the rest of the fee.
City Xtra@City_Xtra

Nottingham Forest are quoting around £120M for Elliot Anderson, believing it is fair given his key role for England at the World Cup and under contract until 2029. The valuation is also partly based on Moisés Caicedo's move from Brighton to Chelsea for £115M in 2023. [@RobDawsonESPN/@MarkOgden_]

Arteta says he was mistaken there. Timber is not in the squad, he thought the question meant Saka.

A reminder of where #Arsenal were six years ago. Leicester have now been relegated to League One and Tottenham also face relegation, whilst we compete for the title and the Champions League. The media were desperate to kick us out of the big six. The agenda has always been there.

If I told you a few years ago that pretty soon, spurs would be getting relegated, Chelsea would be midtable, and Arsenal would repeatedly compete to win the CL and PL, would you ever dream you’d be this miserable? 😂

Get some perspective: Back in 1979–80, Arsenal played 70 games and won absolutely nothing. Brian Talbot played every single game. Won nothing. Alan Sunderland scored 29 goals. Won nothing. The defence conceded only 36 goals in the league and only 3 in 9 European games. They even kept a clean sheet against a peak Juventus side in Italy! Won nothing. We lost the FA Cup final to West Ham on a Saturday and the European CWC final on penalties to Valencia the following Wednesday. No one stopped supporting. No one abused the team. We came back year after year and backed the team. We won nothing for 8 years. Still we kept showing up. If you’re a fan, start acting like one.

Before Spurs get too carried away if Forest beat Burnley and West Ham beat a Palace side who deservedly enjoyed a drink after getting the through against Fiorentina then they drop back into the bottom three…

Alex Manninger Best Saves - Premier League & FA Cup 1997/98 Comp of his best saves during a vital period in the 97/98 season when Seaman went out injured at a vital time. Some huge performances especially vs Man Utd in the league at Old Trafford & West Ham in the FA Cup QF - RIP

Really sensible take from rival fans. Quite rare to see these days. 👍

Arteta is on the verge of making back-to-back Champions League semi-finals for the first time in Arsenal history m, and in just a few years he’s given Arsenal something they hadn’t truly had in a long time, belief. Not just hope, but actual belief that they belong at the very top again. Because before him, Arsenal had become… comfortable. Top 4 was the goal, not the starting point. Big games felt like survival missions, not statements. But Arteta changed that. Now when Arsenal step onto the pitch, especially at Emirates, there’s an expectation to Win, not just compete. And that’s the biggest shift, mentality and identity. You can criticize him for certain things, overthinking in big moments, being too rigid at times, or even how some title races slipped and those are fair conversations. But zoom out a bit, and you see the real picture, he rebuilt a broken structure. From recruitment to tactics to culture, everything now has a clear direction. This is a team that presses as one, attacks with structure, and controls games territorially. They’re not just talented. they’re coached. You can see patterns, relationships, understanding between players. He’s also changed how Arsenal are perceived globally again. For the first time in years, they’re genuinely in conversations with Europe’s Best team, not as a historic club living off the past, but as a current powerhouse. So yes, you can blame him for this moments… but you can’t deny what he’s built. Because Arteta didn’t just improve Arsenal, he reset their standard.

City went and spent £100m in January to buy two of the best players in the league to win them another title when they are still awaiting punishment for cheating 115 times. Premier League is a shambles.
