1-3A Football: Looking at history of teams moving UP/Down under the new system started in 2019: Crismon has never been a 4A school but we all know their enrollment numbers are at that level for sure-Seton and both Dysart came under based on new system and in all reality should be 4A: I also believe at any time Tonopah with their enrollment would be 4A and San Tan Charter wants to move to 3A which I admire: Here is a list of schools and where they are at after going to the move up or down system : 4a to lower and/or back up: Palo Verde to 3A and then 2A (LOS) Coronado to 3A and now 2A (LOS) Cortez to 3A and now in 2A (LOS) Mohave to 3A (LOS) back to 4A Seton to 3A Ben Franklin-from 3A (Success) to 4A and then back down to 3A (LOS) Apache Junction to 3A (LOS) Shadow Mt to 3A (1YR) (LOS) then to 2A (LOS) now back in 3A Yuma schools went to 3A but back to 4A Tempe to 3A but wanted in 4A and now in 4A 3A to higher (success): Paradise Honors to 4A Snowflake to 4A NWC to 4A YC to 5A ALA schools BF to 4A then back to 3A 3A to 2A: (Lack of Success) Bourgade Chino Valley Ft Hills Hollbrook Tanque Verde Catalina Tuba City 2A to 3A (stayed in 3A) Only original 2 (moved up for success) from 2019 who have not come back down! Thatcher Round Valley 3A to 2A and back up: Chinle 2A to 3A (for success) and back to 2A for lack of success: Phoenix Christian (original team with Thatcher/RV) Benson Arizona Lutheran Parker Morenci 1A 8man to 2A: Lincoln Prep Desert Christian NFL Yet 2A to 1A: Sedona allowed to be 8man Valley Lutheran 2A to 3A for Success (Exec allowed to stay in 2A) Pima 2A/3A teams IF NOT for Tightening up the system would have been moved up a few years ago: This is my opinion based on following what was happening: 2A: SCA 100% for sure (they came sooooo close last year even with newer stricter system by just perentage point) Scottsdale Prep 3A: VC PRCA

@AZSPORTSNETWORK @LSDFootball @SCPAthletics @DaveFreely Totally agree with you. I will say this, Seton had the hardest conference & SOS last year and traveled over 2000 miles so it was a challenge to say the least. There are some really good programs in 3A so any success will be earned.

@AZSPORTSNETWORK @LSDFootball @SCPAthletics @DaveFreely The problem at Seton has been numbers. Lucky to have more than 12-13 upper classmen in all but the 2024 team. So you end up playing the same 11 both sides of the ball and that makes for a long 2nd half.

I do not follow 4A schools I know a bit about seton historically in FB-baseball and hoops. IMO the past records do not mean anything because if you can in 2024 WIN 8 games and make the playoffs regardless if many of those players left it shows that they can compete-what it shows IMO is that when those kiddos were at the lower levels they big time underperformed and are we to move down every team that underperforms??? The issue is maybe you do a coaching change (they did) maybe you schedule better for freedom games-but this idea that everybody has to have winning seasons year after year is insane to me especially when they drop down they get to now pound on smaller enrollment teams (yes low enrollment but a private and if they didnt get in those stud athletes are we to feel sorry for them as they say you win some you lose some)

@SCPAthletics @AZSPORTSNETWORK @DaveFreely Sorry to say the 24 team had more than a stud RB and to lay the entire season on him is just a wishful thinking. Yes he was a stud but you forget the 2 ILBs were in top 5 in tackles and 1 lead all LBs in 4A INTs plus every D starter had conf recognition.
