@WeirdBristol Back when I was a kid (late 80s - mid 90s) my family would frequently visit Park Street to do all the bookshops (as there were many). Always parked on Berkeley Square and walked past this lane.

There and Back Again Lane near Berkeley Square is named both as a nod to Tolkien’s Hobbit and also as a poetic description of the cul-de-sac.

I was the only one in the family that liked the purple quality street. At Christmas when the annual tin was opened, I never had any of the purple ones & shared the rest with everyone - leaving them all for me to the end.

Dad died last year. I had the job of clearing his house out as I still live in the same town. Found twelve thousand pounds in cash stashed in various hiding places. Haven't told my siblings.
