“Forward guidance” - a practice YOU developed? As in the exact same term that the US Federal Reserve implemented months before in THEIR response to the Global Financial Crisis? IT WAS? This is from August 2008. Like…stop this. We can look stuff like this up. Gawd.

More than enough non partisan experts believe this, look at the signals, story in thread: ‘ Mark Carney’s agenda is about enriching a small group of well-connected Liberal elites like him, who get corporate handouts of tax dollars and use tax havens to avoid paying the same bills they are charging you.’
Pierre Poilievre@PierrePoilievre

Here’s Mark Carney’s illusion: he wants to keep Canadians in a state of fear and panic to distract from all of his costly failures at home. The Carney Liberals have given us the worst food inflation, the worst household debt, the worst housing costs, and the only shrinking economy in the G7. He has not repealed a single anti-development law, approved a single pipeline, and housing construction is actually falling. To top it all off, he’s doubled the deficit Justin Trudeau left behind. These are all Liberal-made problems that Carney made worse. And as for the U.S., Mark Carney’s talk of a rupture with the customer that buys two-thirds of our goods is not a plan. He has not negotiated a single new Free Trade Agreement with any country on earth. The meetings, photo ops, and non-binding memoranda are all an illusion. Mark Carney’s agenda is about enriching a small group of well-connected Liberal elites like him, who get corporate handouts of tax dollars and use tax havens to avoid paying the same bills they are charging you. If we want to be affordable at home, safe at home, and strong at home we must make real change at home. That’s why Conservatives are fighting for an end to wasteful Liberal spending. Let us cut corporate welfare, consultants, foreign aid, and handouts to fake refugees. Unblock our resources. Unleash our entrepreneurs. Approve pipelines and major projects today. Incentivize municipalities to build homes. Cut the gas taxes on farmers, truckers, and steelmakers. Stop the money-printing and inflationary deficits that drive up the cost of everything. That’s the only way we will be strong at home and unbreakable abroad.

Prime Minister Carney’s message today was largely expected. The warning signs have been there for months, especially as he increased his international travel. We’ve also reached this point because he has not delivered on his key promise to secure a deal with the United States—a commitment that was both economically important and politically central. In that context, suggesting that the United States is no longer an ally is, quite frankly, hard to believe. What we’re now seeing is a clear weakening of CUSMA as a reliable trade framework. The possibility of a direct deal between the United States and Mexico—leaving Canada on the sidelines—is no longer far-fetched. That would be a major shift for how trade works in North America. For the agri-food sector, the risks are real. About 75% of Canada’s agri-food exports go to the United States. That has worked well for years, but it also means we are highly exposed. Diversifying sounds good in theory, but in practice it takes time, money, and new infrastructure. In the meantime, farmers, processors, and distributors would feel the pressure through tighter margins. In food, geography matters. You can’t move farmland. What we produce has to be shipped, and the farther the customer, the higher the cost. That makes us less competitive. On logistics and supply chains, Canada still trails several G20 countries. PM Carney's use of “forward guidance” is really about preparing Canadians for what’s ahead, and perhaps shifting blame. But make no mistake, Canada’s position is weakening. This isn’t really about opinions—it’s about reality. The real test will be how Canadian households, especially the middle class, handle the pressure. The adjustment is coming. The only question is who will bear the cost.

.@MarkJCarney's entire election campaign was to "negotiate a win" with Trump. He failed at his most important mandate. The resulting economic uncertainty is killing mainstreet. Investment & talent are fleeing Canada.

@Prominent_Bryan Sorry Bryan, you missed an important fact. Even now with a majority Liberal government, the MSM spends the majority of their time attacking Pierre and the opposition. Why? Answer: Liberals view him as a threat.

@AndrewLawton For the last year, all the Liberals have been doing is "ragging the puck" on a trade deal with the US. Love to see @potus pull the Carney's US visas.

Mark Carney was elected because he told Canadians he could get a deal with the U.S. He didn’t. He’s now moving the goalposts to cover for his inability to deliver.

WATCH: Energy expert tells MPs that U.S. energy companies are NOT looking to invest in Canada because of anti-development Liberal regulations that make investment unstable and not profitable. For a decade, Conservatives have warned that these are the consequences of anti-development Liberal laws, like the federal industrial carbon tax, which the US doesn't have. These companies, that bring jobs and investment, choose to go to a country that doesn't punish its own industry. Only Conservatives will fix the laws, taxes, policies, and regulations that block investment here at home to get big projects built in Canada for Canadian affordability, sovereignty, and self-sufficiency.

“Imagine a Prime Minister who walks Canadians through the plan. Here is what we are trying to fix. Here is why this approach makes sense. Here is what success looks like. Here is when you should expect to feel it. Here is what might go wrong. That kind of transparency does not weaken authority. It builds it. And it’s so different than anything else we’ve seen before. In my work asking people questions, I see how people respond when leaders explain their thinking in plain language. Even skeptics become more patient and some opponents soften when they feel informed rather than managed. People are far more willing to grant room to manoeuvre when they understand the destination.” open.substack.com/pub/davidcolet…

Elon, from the bottom of my broken heart, thank you. ❤️ You’ve kept my beautiful daughter Liv’s memory alive in the most extraordinary way, by making Asteroid, the official mascot for SpaceX. Liv poured her whole soul into designing that little dog in a spacesuit, dreaming of the stars just like you. Seeing her creation soar on Polaris Dawn already brought tears of joy. Knowing it will now be a part of every SpaceX mission, flying among the stars forever? That’s healing I can’t even put into words. You didn’t just honor a young girl’s dream, you are keeping her spirit alive. Liv’s love, her laughter, her unbreakable fight lives on through Asteroid, and every time a Falcon roars or Starship climbs toward orbit, a piece of my girl flies with it. I’m crying grateful tears right now. Thank you for this priceless gift. You’ve turned our deepest pain into something eternal and beautiful among the stars. @elonmusk
