I have seen a letter which is said to have come from @PoliceUg restricting movement until after 10:00am tomorrow. This is not proper given that people have a lot of things to do and now me who have a flight at 9:45am, I can’t leave home before 10:00am simply because some people are pretending to be sweeping. No road should be blocked tomorrow. Those cleaning can go ahead and clean while others carry with their normal routine at work.

After seeing this video I have understood why Mose Ali has ruled the people of Ajumani for all his entire life. It's true they voted him even though he was in that situation.

Heartbreaking: This security guard was manhandled and brutaly assaulted by his superior for not reporting to work. This shows we are hustling in harsh work environments full of toxic employers. No employee should go thru this from their bosses. RDC should value lives. #breaking

It is with deep sorrow that I announce the death of our brother Gen. Moses Ali. He died today at Nakasero Hospital, at 1600 hours. Gen Moses Ali has provided service to his country for a long time, as a soldier and a political leader. In the West Nile region, he provided the good example of being a big modern farmer. We shall miss greatly his contribution. May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace.

@SsemujjuNganda1 You are spot on @ssejjuNganda. Imagine by now, the Hon., Balaam may be doing his "hard questioning"without considering the difference between enrollment and attendance in schools. We'll discuss the issue of charging fees vs staffing (staff in govt payroll) in these schools later

I have watched videos of Nameere interrogating medical officers in Gulu. It’s very disturbing that she talked to them as if she's talking to her children in her house. No sense of professionalism, no ethical conduct, just attitudes and despising the medical workers. Worst she is speaking to the locals (the Acholi) in her local language (Luganda), riyale, was this a mockery to those people? Medical officers in these places are just helping Ugandans based on their enumeration. She boast of them being paid UGX. 2.6m (take home: Ugx. 1.7m), but she forgot that she earns over UGX. 50m+ for doing nothing other than showing attitude to hardworking Ugandans in medical fields.

Mbarara City Mayor Robert Kakyebezi has criticized Local Government Minister Balaam Barugahara's hands-on anti-corruption operations. Kakyebezi argued that a minister's role is to supervise rather than personally lead investigations, urging the Minister to meet local leaders to strengthen working relations before initiating such actions. QN; What are your thoughts on Mayor Kakyebezi's advice to Minister Balaam?

Government Rolls Out Online Recruitment for Districts to Curb Corruption and Streamline Hiring. The Government of Uganda has announced a major shift in the recruitment of staff for district and city local governments, with all future recruitment processes set to transition to an online system. The move is aimed at reducing physical interaction between applicants and recruitment officials, cutting paperwork, improving transparency, and eliminating corruption in public service hiring. According to the Ministry of Public Service, the new e-recruitment platform will enable job seekers to submit applications electronically, upload academic and professional documents online, and receive notifications digitally throughout the recruitment process. The system is also expected to automate shortlisting and standardize recruitment procedures across all districts and cities. Government officials say one of the key objectives is to minimize direct contact between applicants and District Service Commission officials, a practice that has for years been linked to bribery, favoritism, document handling challenges, and recruitment irregularities. By digitizing the process, authorities hope to restore public confidence and ensure jobs are awarded based on merit rather than personal influence. The reform follows longstanding concerns raised by Parliament, oversight institutions, and anti-corruption agencies over widespread allegations of bribery in district recruitment. Previous reports indicated that many job seekers were forced to pay illicit sums to secure public service positions, prompting calls for a technology-driven recruitment system. The online recruitment initiative is part of the government's broader digital transformation agenda in public administration and is expected to improve efficiency, reduce operational costs associated with paper-based applications, and create a transparent audit trail for every recruitment exercise. The Ministry says the system will gradually be rolled out across local governments and will become the standard platform for recruiting public servants at district and city levels as Uganda advances its digital governance reforms. Hon minister @JustineNameere and I , we pledge to deliver with support from Public Service and Head of public service .

During the Kawempe by-election, journalists were beaten badly by the military. But when they reached @CanaryMugume , they didn’t beat him. Makes you wonder whether they knew something the rest of us didn’t.

@ChurchofUganda_ Point of correction. They call themselves, " The reformed Anglican Church of Uganda" or already that is what I have heard in their recent congregations. Things are just a little confusing lately.

Church of Uganda has noted with concern the activities of individuals operating under the name "Reformed Anglican Church", who have been using Church of Uganda hymns, Anglican liturgical practices, and clerical and episcopal vestments in a manner that is misleading members of the public into believing that they are part of or affiliated with Church of Uganda. Church of Uganda wishes to categorically state that the Reformed Anglican Church is not affiliated with, recognised by, or in communion with Church of Uganda or the Global Anglican Communion (GAC). Any claims or representations suggesting otherwise are false and intended to mislead the public. Details:
