Four ways to be a humble leader: 1. Be unselfish and put the team first. 2. Be willing to do any task, no matter how big or small. 3. Take the blame after losses and give credit to others after wins. 4. Be empathetic and treat people with respect.

Don’t be upset by the results you didn’t get...from the work you didn’t do. Champions do not become champions when they win the game, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it.

🚨 Attention College Coaches 🚨 I understand it’s a busy time with spring practice, but when possible, please consider responding to messages from players and coaches. Even a quick reply goes a long way. Communication matters and helps build relationships. 🤝🏈

“Talking” to a coach doesn't mean they’re going to offer you. There are stages to recruiting. Talking is a very early stage. You still have a long way to go.

Great Linebackers ANTICIPATE the play. Here’s a pre-snap checklist that can help: SITUATION The next play starts as soon as the previous play ends. Certain information is instantly available. This includes: -Down and Distance -Yard Line -Score -Hash -Strong Wind -Flow of the Game Football doesn’t happen in a vacuum. A quick understanding of the situation goes a long way. OPPONENT As the opponent gets ready for the snap, more clues emerge. This includes: -Personnel -Formation -Motion You’ve been scouting them all week. A quick pre-snap look at how they’re lining up should narrow down what plays you might see next. PLAY CALL Linebackers also need a firm grasp of their assignment before the ball is snapped. This includes: -Front -Stunt -Blitz -Coverage A Linebacker needs to KNOW THEIR JOB so they can execute their assignment. FINAL THOUGHTS You don’t want your Linebackers to be overloaded with information. But a quick check of a few pre-snap factors can really help a Linebacker anticipate what they’ll see next. And that’ll help them play fast.
