🚨 Refugee Programme Update 🚨 Exactly 3 months ago today I boarded a plane in Johannesburg with a suitcase and a carry-on, that's it. Niks, nada, fokol, nil compensation. I was so scared and had no idea how I was going to do this, but I knew that if I didn't, I would die. It's been a wild ride and I've loved trying to make the experience real for all of you, sharing all the ups and downs of life as a refugee in the US (although the negatives were very few and far between🤣) but I can honestly say that I love my new life here and will continue to fight for equality in South Africa to make it safer for those who can't leave or don't want to. The gratitude that I have down from the depths of my soul for what the Trump Administration and the American people have done for us can't be explained, and I will spend every single breath that I have left in my body, for the rest of my life, trying to repay this debt of kindness.
