He made a fair point. When you move to a country like the UK, it’s important to respect the culture and way of life that already exists. That doesn’t mean you have to lose your identity, but integration matters. Learning how things work, respecting social norms, and contributing positively to society should be part of the process. At the same time, culture isn’t static, it evolves. So it’s about balance and respecting the country you’ve come to, while also adding value in a positive way.

In 2023, during the cash scarcity, my dad was complaining about not having cash, so I decided to send him some money. When I got to the park, the driver told me I would have to pay ₦20,000 as a delivery fee for ₦100,000. I even begged him to collect ₦15,000, but he refused. I guess a guy nearby had been watching the interaction between me and the driver. He came up to me and asked what I wanted to deliver and the location. I don’t know why, but I trusted him immediately. I gave him the money and my dad’s phone number. He then brought out his passport ID and told me to snap it myself and take his picture for assurance. He also took my number. Later that evening, my dad called to confirm that he had received the money. I called the guy to thank him properly, and we started talking every day. Eventually, he asked to come and see me, and I agreed. Best man ever! ❤️

But after checking it, she saw a debit alert for a huge amount of money. She rushed back to the bank to complain and caused a scene. Eventually, the money was refunded to her account. Later, it turned out that one of the bank staff had attempted to steal the money. Things are happening.
