This is EXACTLY why people are DONE with Facebook Marketplace… 📦 She literally listed two egg chairs for FREE. Not discounted. Not negotiable. FREE. Clear picture. Clear description. One chair had a cushion, one didn’t. That’s it. And somehow… it STILL turned into chaos. Message after message, people asking questions already answered, trying to negotiate a price on something that costs $0, acting confused over the most basic details. It went from “I’m giving this away” to pure frustration real fast. That’s when she snapped, FULL rant mode. And honestly? A lot of people are saying she just said what everyone’s been thinking. Because, how does “free” still turn into this much drama?? At some point it’s not even about the item anymore… it’s about dealing with people. Be real, has Facebook Marketplace become more stress than it’s worth? And what’s the most ridiculous message you’ve ever gotten trying to sell (or give away) something?

The confusion probably comes from the fact that it's definitely a tax on the value of your home and not a fee for the public services you use. See the latter would be a set amount that doesn't vary based on how much you make or how valuable your home is. Property taxes are entirely based on the value of your home and have nothing to do with the public services you receive.

I’m very confused about the number of people who think “property tax” is a sales tax on you home rather than taxes to pay for public services you use every day. “I paid off my home why do i still pay property taxes?!?!?” Oh, did you also stop using the roads and libraries and sidewalks and parks? @rushicrypto That's BS. Otherwise explain to me why my property taxes go up because I remodel my kitchen. I sah don't get more services when I do. In fact less, really, because my kitchen is less likely to catch fire.

@HaveMyPopcorn @DesireeAmerica4 Property taxes definitely pay for our garbage service. It can vary somewhat between municipalities, but that is where a bulk or all of the funds come from to pay for it.

@TCGView @DesireeAmerica4 Real estate tax doesn't pay for trash service. I don't know why you're associating the two. If you own a home, you pay for trash service besides your mortgage. Same thing as paying for it besides your rent.

@HaveMyPopcorn @DesireeAmerica4 That's the thing, though. That tax, which is proposed to get rid of property taxes, is affecting me when that is not part of my rent. I still have to pay for that and it is not compiled into the rent. I pay rent, and then I have to pay this other set of fees separately.

@TCGView @DesireeAmerica4 That contract should also state what is included with rent. I suspect electricity is not covered, water might be, for example. How that's handled is up to the landlord but has nothing to do with real estate taxes.

@TCGView @DesireeAmerica4 That's just semantics. Your rent is $500 +$25 for trash pickup or your rent is $525. Point is, there's a dumpster shared by everyone, right? So only one person (the landlord) is going to pay the dumpster company, and he collects small portions from his tenants.

30+ different DNA inside a woman is different than 1 guy’s DNA inside her. Most guys if they had a choice in looking for a wife treat the process the same as getting a car. # 1 Get one brand new is BEST! 2nd option is getting one slightly used by one maybe two previous owners (especially if they took well care of it) #3 Avoiding a former rental, fleet or any situation with multiple former owners. (You need to ask yourself why so many owners?) #4 If you have to, get a “beater” to just use with minimal effort until the aggravation is more than it’s worth. Finally never take ownership of anything the has obvious red flags or a history of major problems in the past no matter how much you’re told it’s not a problem anymore.

@alphafox Look what the property taxes fund. The overwhelming majority of it funds local education. The rest is some infrastructure. But mostly education.
