@QuickBooks So I won’t be changing my mind. When your board make a decision to millions of take customers like me for granted it won’t go well. Not surprised they haven’t told you. What a golden opportunity for @Xero

@HavingsomefunPL If you change your mind and still need a hand with this, feel free to DM me. I haven't heard of any plans to stop the GoCardless integration, but I can take a closer look at what's happening on your end. ^Sean x.com/messages/compo…

@QuickBooks have you really turned off the option to set up a direct debit to automatically collect monies from clients on a recurring basis. I don’t want to use Quickbook collections because I’m told it doesn’t work like a direct debit

@QuickBooks This directly from your QuickBooks help advisors “GoCardless and PayPal are being discontinued on this platform. Currently, only the old invoice layout supports direct debit and PayPal; once we switch to the new layout, these payment options will no longer be available”.

@QuickBooks I’m also told by your QB agents that you will be stopping all GoCardless integration. Thanks for letting me know. I’ve spoken to my accountant and we’re moving my 3 businesses to @Xero. Their win I guess

@HavingsomefunPL You should still be able to set up a direct debit for recurring clients, so I'd like to take a closer look at what you're seeing on your end. Please send me a DM, and I'll investigate this for you. ^Sean x.com/messages/compo…

@QuickBooks I can’t and have been through this with 3 different QB service agents because I need to right now. 10 years with QB ding this and you’ve changed it. Not even my accountant has been informed by you.

@YvetteCooperMP @DeborahMeaden Perhaps if you’d listened first. Perhaps if your party had a basic understanding of economics and the consequences of the well intentioned but misaligned policies. They’re not even unintended consequences, they’re plainly obvious consequences.

As I said earlier, these have been really tough results today - including in Wakefield. As the PM has said, this is now a time for serious, calm-headed reflection, because following these results, we must listen and respond, but do so in a steady, thoughtful and reflective way.

Twenty million barrels of oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz yesterday. Today the number may be zero. Not because Iran mined the water. Not because a tanker was hit. Because Lloyd’s of London picked up the phone. War risk underwriters began canceling policies for strait transits hours after Operation Epic Fury launched. The Financial Times confirmed premiums surging 50 percent. Baseline war risk sits at 0.25 percent of hull value. For a hundred million dollar tanker that is 250,000 dollars per voyage. At peak escalation rates, one million per transit. Vessels linked to American or Israeli interests are becoming uninsurable entirely. No price. No policy. No passage. The KHK Empress was loaded with Omani crude heading for Basra when it executed a U-turn mid-strait and redirected to India. The Eagle Veracruz halted at the western approach carrying two million barrels of Saudi crude bound for China. The Front Shanghai stopped off Sharjah with Iraqi crude destined for Rotterdam. Nippon Yusen ordered its entire fleet to avoid Hormuz. Greece told its merchant armada to reassess passage. Hapag-Lloyd suspended all transits. None of them were fired upon. Every one of them got the same call. More than fifty million years ago the Arabian plate collided with the Eurasian plate and compressed the Persian Gulf into a basin that drains through a single geological bottleneck twenty one miles wide. Twenty one percent of global petroleum. Twenty percent of all seaborne LNG. One fifth of industrial civilization’s energy supply forced through a tectonic accident narrower than the English Channel, bordered on one side by the country whose supreme leader was killed yesterday morning. The USS Abraham Lincoln carries enough Tomahawks to sink every IRGC patrol boat in 48 hours. Operation Praying Mantis crippled Iran’s operational naval forces in eight hours in 1988. The Fifth Fleet has rehearsed this scenario for decades. None of that matters. Aircraft carriers cannot force an underwriter to rewrite a policy. Tomahawks cannot lower a premium. The most powerful navy in human history cannot make a Lloyd’s syndicate decide that a VLCC transiting Iranian coastal waters represents an acceptable risk on a Saturday afternoon when missiles are landing in Dubai. Goldman Sachs estimates Brent could peak at 110 dollars per barrel. JP Morgan projects 120 to 130. At those levels every airline bleeds cash. Every central bank watches three years of inflation fighting reignite overnight. Bypass pipelines from Saudi Arabia and the UAE handle roughly three million barrels. Hormuz handles twenty million. The math does not close. Iran figured out something the Pentagon still has not. You do not need to close a strait. You just need to make it uninsurable. open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…

Goodbye USA. The EU and India have signed a trade and security agreement in New Delhi. According to Ursula von der Leyen, the new agreement creates a free trade zone for around two billion people. It provides for a gradual reduction of Indian tariffs on cars from the EU from 110% to 10%. Most other tariffs will also be eliminated: 44% for machinery, 22% for chemicals, and 11% for pharmaceutical products. European farmers will gain access to the Indian agricultural market – most restrictions will be lifted or significantly reduced. EU companies will receive privileged access to the Indian services market, including financial services and maritime transport. The security agreement provides for enhanced cooperation in maritime and cybersecurity, counter-terrorism, and the potential joint development of military technology in the future.

@SilverstoneUK trying to book supercar experience through your website ‘OOOPS something went wrong’ - hardly helpful when trying to pay. No phone # to seek assistance for a basket worth £540. Completed help form - now need to wait 48 hrs. Is this really what the brand stands for?

@RupertLowe10 Don’t believe what you say but if it is true it happened on your party’s watch - all 14 years of it. You and your colleagues keep shouting down the microphone because it’s much easier than actually taking responsibility.

Walk around any British town centre. It's filthy, plagued with gangs of foreign men shouting in their own languages, harassing local women. I am sick of it. I have had enough. We have all had enough. Why do we put up with it? What are they doing here? Why is nobody in politics talking about it? They'll all scream 'oh isn't Rupert a racist?!' I honestly don't give a shit. I really don't. It's all true, and we all know it. Britain didn't used to be like this. Ten, twenty, thirty years ago - it did not used to be like this. We've all seen how it's changed. It does not have to be like this. I remember working and living in London. It was the best city in the world. Vibrant, fun, safe, exciting, welcoming. Now? Large parts are becoming a squalid slum - like so many of our towns and cities. Not just London, Birmingham or Manchester. But our once-charming little towns are going the same way, many already have. Others are well on their way... Importing hundreds of thousands of young men from backward cultures that share none of our values - that hate women, disrespect women, mistreat women. What did we think would happen, honestly? Is it a surprise that same poison is infecting our streets and communities? No. No, it is not. These changes to our communities and our towns are not permanent, not irremediable, not inevitable. It can be reversed. And it must be reversed. Stop the flow. Deport the illegals. Remove those foreigners who add nothing, but take so very much. I will continue to make these arguments in Westminster. Starmer's too weak to say it, Farage is too scared to say it. But it's time politicians were honest with the British people. I have had enough. I want to live in a country where women can enjoy a Friday night out without the fear of being raped by somebody who should never have been in our country to begin with. I want my country back.

One year ago, @POTUS was charged with restoring our country's greatness. Since entering office, he's brokered eight peace deals and championed our America First values globally. Because of his leadership, we're no longer a laughingstock — we're the hottest country in the world.
