STUDY TOUR: KIU Public Health students visited Entebbe International Airport yesterday (Thursday, 9th April 2026). Led by Dr. Nicholas Ngomi, Associate Dean of the School of Public Health. The students gained frontline exposure, discovering that public health isn’t just theory—it’s a commitment to protecting lives across borders. At Entebbe International Airport’s Kazuri Medical Aviation & Corporate Health Unit, they experienced first-hand disease surveillance, traveler screening, and emergency response protocols. This visit reminded students that every protocol followed at points of entry safeguards communities worldwide and that public health is more than a career but rather a calling to protect lives. The conference featured a vibrant and thought-provoking student panel moderated by Ms. Emilia Joy Naggayi, centered on the theme: “Youth in Action: Building Equitable Multi-Sectoral Partnerships for Environmental Health and Resilient Health Systems.” Bringing together diverse perspectives, the panel showcased the power of youth-led dialogue and collaboration. Contributions from Mr. Pariyo Dan (Civil Engineering student at Makerere University), Mr. Matthew Matsiko (Biotechnology Society, Makerere University), Mr. Jimmy Jackson Lubango (Makerere University School of Public Health & MUEHSA), and Mr. Ssengendo Mark (Kampala International University Public Health Society) made the discussion both insightful and impactful. Victory for KIU School of Public Health! On Friday, 27th March, 2026, Kampala International University School of Public Health joined other institutions for the 2026 Makerere University Environmental Health Students’ Association (MUEHSA).
