Graham Platner isn’t just our best and only chance to beat Susan Collins, he’s a good, decent man who’s struggled and grown and is always trying to do better. I hope everyone with reservations takes a little time to get to know the real life version of him, not what the algorithm throws in our faces. Clearly, that’s what so many people in Maine have done - from all different walks of life and political persuasions.

We need redraws in Colorado, Maine, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, Washington, Minnesota, Oregon, and New York. The only way to get a national gerrymandering ban is for us to respond seat-for-seat.

It sucks but honestly, it was only a matter of time. She clearly did not really want to run, was convinced by Schumer and co to run and then completely left out to dry. She got to have the negative association with The Establishment/Schumer with zero actual support. Which was completely baffling (and frankly, pretty shitty). The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.
