We know Erdoğan is willing to go the extra mile to resolve the S-400 issue, after Turkey paid billions for the system and lost billions more when it was expelled from the F-35 program. At the time, he framed the purchase as Turkey’s declaration of strategic autonomy from the West. Today, those billions are gone, people are being jailed because they MIGHT protest the very West Ankara once vilified and Turkey’s media watchdog is warning TV channels against critical coverage of NATO. That dramatic reversal is the real story. What a time to be alive. With my comments 👇

Reposting, as this issue is getting some traction now as to why a real AF1 is coming on station…. With added notion that perhaps there was some threat reporting as well. But bottom line is at the Qatari origin bridge aircraft is not yet suitable for international travel for the president. Which is something that those of us in the ntl security world immediately saw as a very real possibility, last week. The vanity project met reality.

On here, plus during a @MSNOWNews hit….so reason finally took hold, Qatar Force One not equipped with appropriate comms/force pro/security package for intl duty…Secret Service and USAF pleas must have won out, over Trump’s vanity project…Turkey a high CI threat environment plus we back to war with Iran. The post below is of course ridiculous fluff… the bridge aircraft just not ready for prime time overseas… though I’m sure it’s very comfy…
