👀 UNHINGED: Desperation is beginning to show from the federal Liberals as MP @NathalieProvost and Safety Minister @Gary_SRP announce truly dismal participation numbers (only 51,000 declarations) with only a week to go in the failed gun confiscation program. Q&A starts @ 4:38 👇

Provost accidentally says the quiet part out loud: "If they are not registered by March 31st..." That's the thing. The registration scheme was for confiscation. And now they're trying to use this as a registration scheme.

@4nt1p4tt3rn The longest theoretical “walk” in MSP is slightly over a mile with minimal moving walkways. (Worthless anyway because fat Americans stand on them like cattle)

@TWilsonOttawa If you retain your guns after the amnesty expires you will be a criminal, and if you encourage others to do that you wil be a criminal.

Agreed … this is likely the tactic. Whatever happens - hold the damn line. We didn’t come this far to only come this far.
Canadian Gray Man@CanadianGrayMan

@TWilsonOttawa They will try to intimidate us, and likely announce the ban of the something else, just to add insult to injury.

Update: the Analyst finally arrived… He walked in at 12:02, legal pad in hand I said "where have you been" He said "I need you to understand" He sat down in the chair, he looked different somehow Like a man who had seen things he couldn't say how He said "boss man it started at five on the dot Karen handed us flashlights and said 'give it a shot' She said 'phones stay outside, this is sacred team space' Then she pulled out her own and was scrolling mid-place She makes rules for the team that she'd never obey But it's 'mandatory fun' and we don't get a say The company paid for this room by the hour But shareholder value was eroding by the hour They locked us inside, or at least that's what we thought We searched for the clues that the escape room had brought Karen made us do icebreakers first thing in the room While we could have been solving she set up a Zoom She said 'let's go around and say how we all feel' I said 'I feel like leaving,' she said 'that's not ideal' Then she asked us to share our most vulnerable thought The controller said 'Tired,' which is all that he's got Someone asked about synergies, someone asked about goals Someone brought up alignment and collaborative roles Karen asked for our pronouns, went person by person I said 'I don't have pronouns, I have adjectives instead' She said 'that's not a thing,' I said 'your own policy said' I sat in the corner and I opened my pad I took notes on the clues because you always said: Read everything once, then read it again The answer is usually right there on page ten By midnight the flashlight had started to fade Karen said 'this is bonding,' I said 'this is unpaid' Karen judged every answer, corrected each thought But the value she'd added was zilch, zero, naught She was quick with opinions on what we should be But the door to the exit? She just couldn't see At 6am Saturday I couldn't take any more So I walked to the exit and I pushed on the door" It opened. He paused, and the room became still I said "what happened next" and he said "if you will I walked out to my car and I sat for a while In my driveway at home, not a thought, not a smile Because I spent thirteen hours searching for a key To a door that was open, the whole time, for free And it made me think, boss, about all that I do Every meeting that could have been an email or two Every policy followed that nobody read Every Friday I stayed when I could have just left instead" He looked at me then with a look that I knew It's the look that I give when I know something's true I sat with that, quiet, for a moment or three That kid spent thirteen hours locked up with HR's debris Survived all the icebreakers, Zooms, Karen's pronouns and collaborative feels Took notes on a legal pad no one had asked for Walked up to the door and did what no one else saw Pushed it open Drove home I said "one final question before you sit down" He said "yes boss" I said "after all that, the Zoom and the clown What do you identify as, now that you're free?" He looked at me steady He said just one word "Earned." That kid just earned his first adjective Make common sense common again Plz fix. Thx. Sent from my iPhone

Update: Monday 7:58am Walked in The analyst's desk was empty His coffee was still there from Friday Cold Lid off I checked Teams Last message: Friday 4:52pm "Heading to the escape room boss man. Back in an hour." That was three days ago I called him No answer I called again Nothing I called Karen She picked up on the first ring First time in history HR has ever answered immediately I said "where is my analyst" She said "that's the first thing you ask me after we were trapped in there all night?" I said "yes" She said "we got out Saturday morning" I said "how" She said "your analyst walked up to the door and pushed it" I said "and?" She said "it opened" The door was never locked Not once They sat in that room for 14 hours solving puzzles and looking for clues to unlock a door that was never locked in the first place All anyone had to do was try the handle I told her this on the phone Friday night She hung up on me I said "so where is he now" She said "I don't know. He said something about gridlines and walked out." I checked his desk again His laptop was open The model was on the screen Gridlines still on His legal pad was gone Apparently he brought it to the escape room to take notes on the clues I taught him well He went home Saturday morning and hasn't been back I think the escape room broke him Not the puzzles Not the padlock that didn't exist The realization that he spent Friday night trapped in a room with HR when he could have just walked out the door like I did at 4:58 Then he did exactly that He pushed the door open And left That kid is progressing faster than anticipated I've got some employee retention to do Karen came by my office at 9 She said "someone has a case of the Mondays" I said "I had a great weekend" She did not I looked at the model on his screen Gridlines still on I'm not fixing them That's his job If he figured out how to escape the escape room he can figure out how to get back to the office The door works both ways Sent from my iPhone

Daemon Perturabo could have an entire dedicated codex, a 9-game series with him as the primary antagonist and an honorary doctorate in Chaos Ascension from Oxford University and there still would be IW fans hoping that he'll be retconned

@4nt1p4tt3rn It makes it easier on your QA dept. as well. If something isnt doing what I expect I can message the dev and be all "WTF M8?" and they cant usually set me straight before I need to fail it.

One thing that is definitely lost when vibe coding stuff: When you're developing by hand, you're intimately familiar with the code, and have thought through every code path. You know what should be happening on every line. And you write tests to verify that happens. Which makes debugging MUCH easier, because you know exactly what behaviors and output to expect, and problems are much more obvious when they occur, as is where the problem likely lies. When you vibe code something, particularly something big, you're completely disconnected from your code. And since the LLM is writing your tests, too, you just rely on the AI to tell you everything's working properly. Even when it isn't. Even when the tests have been rigged to pass to make you happy. And you don't know exactly what behaviors and output to expect. Instead, you're just pleasantly surprised when it runs at all. You have to develop entirely new strategies to check the model's code and keep it honest and accurate.
