Wish I could take it back. A mistake on my end ruined our day. Just can’t believe it. Thinking about my team and how much they put into this month. I’m the luckiest guy out there for the crew behind me. Going to regroup and give them the result they deserve.

@bluedog373 @PRetz633 @Fieldof33 The way USAC always measured was 3 feet out from the inside line around the track. That is how they arrived at 2.5 miles. Measurement location may have changed a little bit since the apron has been removed over the years. Maybe at the white line now

One thing I haven’t seen anywhere, but I saw and heard myself… SOMEONE near back of pack hit the wall exiting T1 on lap 200. I was shocked #IndyCar didn’t throw a yellow. I haven’t seen anyone else mention it and haven’t seen a video. Anyone else know who it was?

@realest49919420 2.0 and 3.0 have been going ever since they were <1....even at that age, they were fixated on the cars as they went by. They get so stoked to come every year. It stirs something inside. In my whole career of racing, nothing comes close to Indy.

@HeyRAbbot Dad took me to Daytona 500 at 10. was amazed. Indy at 12 was another level. Blew my mind. Still does.

@HeyRAbbot 1. Was watching it a bit with my 7 y/o. Told him TV does not do the speed of the cars any justice. You have to see it in person. 2. I used to watch the race with my Dad. And I miss him. Wish he was stlll with us

What is more amazing? That this shot is the difference between 3rd, 4th, and 5th place cars. Or, that this shot was taken with them going 230 mph?

@IndyCar So, any update on the second to last restart that was “under review” I never heard anything else after.

NEWS: INDYCAR Officiating has issued a post-race technical inspection penalty to the No. 10 Chip Ganassi Racing entry following the Indy 500 for violating speedway front wing end plate height requirements. The entry has been penalized five championship driver and entrant points and the team has been fined $10,000.

I am in trouble, kid 3.0 caught the racing bug this weekend. Same age I was when I caught it.

@DLand91 How to feel old? Cars I worked on are now vintage, and in museums. Some of my drivers are in those trucks driving around the track at the moment, waving to the crowd and they all have white or no hair.

@MarcoAndretti Marco, Speaking from personal experience in quitting to be the dad my kid needed. You have probably already found that this will be the best chapter and a greater accomplishment than anything in racing. This is awesome!

Racing the way it used to be. They can't do this today on Pit road. The Wayne Baker team had their 935 all apart on Sunday morning in 1984 and they still came home 5th. What an effort! From "when they were new".
