What would you do? Our restaurants offer veterans a 50% discount (up to $10) each time they visit one of our 22 locations. Recently, a veteran’s spouse contacted us after her husband passed away and asked if his discount could be extended to her. In fact, she insisted that it should, arguing that certain veterans’ survivor benefits transfer to a surviving spouse. We expressed our sincere appreciation for her husband’s service and for her family’s sacrifice, but we also explained that our discount is intended specifically for individuals who have served in the military. To ensure fairness and consistency, our team members verify eligibility by requesting a valid military ID whenever the discount is applied. This allows us to enforce the policy uniformly across all of our locations. We recognize that situations like this are sensitive, and we genuinely want to honor those who have served while maintaining a clear and consistent policy for all guests. What are your thoughts?

@HeyRAbbot So the Lawerence Stroll 512 M Penske Ferrari behind Ed I did the engine in that as well. We hid a MSD unit inside the Magnetti Marelli spark box.

@Aero426 Yep, that's same as Ed and Leslie. If you ran into them on the street, you would never know what they were worth. He drove an older Explorer most days unless he was out in the GTO or F-40. Go to his house on Jupiter Island though... Woah! That place was an insanely nice.

@HeyRAbbot The guy in the BBLM left of frame is local. Very enthusiastic, but low key. He drives a Toyota daily and has a relatively modest home. His man cave is 10/10. If you saw him on the street, you would never know.

Here is his wife. She drove them too. Her favorite, at least back when we would do track days, was their 512BBLM. That was a monster of a car! OOOFF! And she would wheel that thing around the track even when she was 8.5 months pregnant.

@BPD1776 Right! It was probably the most difficult cage I ever made. Ed wanted it to fit so precise that it looked original to not kill the value. We even painted it the same color as the rest of the interior. At the time it was 'only worth' $6 million. I think he paid 3.5 when he got it

@aaron_renn Did it meet all the requirements to operate as a business inside the territory, including al P&Z requirements? If so, then how could it be denied even if other people don't like it? The codes and laws would need changed to stop it, correct?

100 people showed up to a hearing to oppose a Buc-ee's in Greenwood, Indiana. Only 4 spoke in favor. It was approved.

@champwebdotnet We were racing at Sears Point and many of us knew Jeff well. I stepped into our trailer right after a session to find Alwin in there by himself. As I learned it was a place he could hide to compose himself and he told me. Yeah, it was a tough day for everyone.

On this day in 1996 we lost Jeff Krosnoff at an on track accident in Toronto. Krosnoff was a rising star driving for Toyota and Arciero-Wells. #StayHungry
