5/ In fact, HepPar1/CPS1 is an enzyme of hepatic (and small bowel) mitochondria.. so in a way this is a feature of hepatic-like metabolism, but SAGAs do not have any other features of hepatic differentiation, so they are not truly (or fully) hepatoid. Not clear why this happens, but remarkably, we found that all of them have STK11/LKB1 mutations. And the link between this mutation and accumulation of HepPar1/LKB1 was identified in prior studies PMID: 28538732, 28376202. So we think that these odd tumors are a manifestation of this peculiar metabolic adaptation in STK11-mutated undifferentiated lung adenocarcinomas.

@cytopathology @HeymannJonas @JASCJOURNAL I do predominantly educational CHC at sign-out prospectively. This would include endometrial lesions (endometrioid CA very common). In prior places, I think most of focus was on endocervical since was doing CHC retrospectively (not as attending).

Q4: In your practice setting, do you perform cyto-histo-correlation "CHC" for glandular abnormalities? If so, do you include endometrial lesions, or focus only on endocervical lesions? @BrG1MD @HeymannJonas #JASCchat @JASCJOURNAL #ASCejournalchat
