@Hezekiah_Judge @goinggodward Not a very pastoral response tbh.
You could try to convince him about the doctrine.

Today’s sermon included a brief story about a young man who expressed to his priest that he was struggling to say the Nicene Creed because he didn’t believe in the virgin birth.
The priest’s response: “Nobody cares what you believe. You’re going to be dead in 60-70 years, and Christians are going to believe in the virgin birth like they have for 2000 years and will continue long after you’re gone.”
English

@bob9book @Isaiahii1 @ksorbs For the record, I absolutely agree with that. I think the issue here isn't that we disagree on what's actually happening, but we disagree on categories.
I think in general, race includes culture. And so, in general, most of that race hold to that culture, which hates God.
English

@Hezekiah_Judge @Isaiahii1 @ksorbs we'll politely disagree. i believe there are many good people, of every race, who choose to side with God
English

@NatanCerqueira2 No, I consider the PCUSA is apostate due to their rejection of the gospel. That's an entirely separate issue. I'm not even Presbyterian. I'm just pointing out that a Presbyterian Church shouldn't have crosses in the sanctuary due to being, ya know, Presbyterian.
English

@Hezekiah_Judge Oh, you're aware, you just don't agree with it. I myself prefer written words (the 10 commandments, the lord's prayer) to symbols, but I won't make an issue out of it provided there's no representation of God. If you want to consider us apostates over that, that's your right.
English

@NatanCerqueira2 I'm aware, but that's how Presbyterians have always been. As for me, the only ones I've seen that have that are PCUSA, and since those are apostate churches I kinda expect them to.
English

@Hezekiah_Judge Nothing there necessarily equates a cross with idolatry. But is this really the first time you see a cross at a Presbyterian Church? I've attended Presbyterian services in a few US states (I'm assuming you're American), and I've seen my share of crosses there.
English

@NatanCerqueira2 The Presbyterians considered the cross a monument of idolatry. So it's weird to see it in a Presbyterian sanctuary.

English

@Hezekiah_Judge Well, they're rather common in our churches. When it is not a cross (either Latin or Celtic), it's a burning bush.
English

@LowerLeavell Psalms 139:21-24
Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You? I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me...

Those who are tempted to dunk on news of Sam Allberry's fall need to know that their sinful pride is just as heinous to God and worthy of disqualification from ministry. "Heartbroken" makes sense to those who believe that "love does not rejoice at wrongdoing." This is grievous.

Immanuel Nashville has disqualified associate pastor Sam Allberry from ministry following his admission of an inappropriate relationship with an adult man. TGC says it is "heartbroken over this news." churchleaders.com/news/2216873-s…
English

@NatanCerqueira2 2 things here.
1) yes, of course you can't win. You're looking at the collective as if it's just one individual.
2) its...a Presbyterian Church. Unless I'm mistaken (and I could be), this is the sanctuary. And according to presby policy, no crosses should be in there.
English

@Hezekiah_Judge When I posted a picture at a church without a Celtic cross, people complained. Now it's one with a Celtic cross (no altar there; just tables), there's still complaint. ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’ Can't win!
English

@Gwenboooooo @TheRealOguriCap Yall could just NOT be fucking degenerates that deserve the death penalty.
That would be great.
English

@Ayfais1 @pepperonibyte My dude, the very fact you think Christ isn't proven by fact and instead think it's entirely faith is just not true. A simple reading of Plato, Aristotle, and St. Augustine would easily disabuse you of the notion.
English

@Hezekiah_Judge @pepperonibyte Lmao that's what this is all about ? First thing first : no I wasn't blaspheming your prophet buddy, not agreeing with your religion isn't insulting it. Second : your religion isn't universal truth, only your own through faith rather than proof an logic.
English

if you need christianity to have morals you are not a good person

English

@Ayfais1 @pepperonibyte There has only ever been one good human, and that was Jesus Christ Himself.
And of course I'm being rude. You're literally blaspheming my master for no reason. What makes you think you deserve to not be treated rudely when you started did it first?
English

@Hezekiah_Judge @pepperonibyte You don't speak stupid yet you seem to master that tongue quite well when you claim we're not good people "by definition" (whatever the hell that means). Side note you're also quite rude
English

@PedroFDebreix Um, no, a Reformed Catholic is the exact same thing as being Reformed. Reformed is just shorthand for Reformed Catholic.
An "Evangelical Catholic" is a Lutheran.
An "English Catholic" is an Anglican.
It's pretty basic stuff tbh.
English

@Ayfais1 @pepperonibyte I don't speak stupid. Do you know a damn thing about philosophy or metaphysics? If not, then shut the fuck up.
English

@Hezekiah_Judge @pepperonibyte Okay Hobbes, thanks for the input, you can go lie back down.
English

@trad_layman @___mithrandir_ ....i can't be the only one who sees the hilarious irony in a papist saying this.
English

@___mithrandir_ It’s amazing that prots think any man is above all sin. Like this doesn’t happen outside the Catholic Church on a bigger scale.
English

What sort of pre reformation sacramental abuse nonsense is this

Ma paroisse demande 50€ pour faire baptiser un enfant sans aucune possibilité de négocier
English

@adielzam @RevJaredJones Maybe you should rethink this tweet.
"I wish the people who keep being right would be liars" is a terrible take.
English

@RevJaredJones They don’t love the truth, they love to be right
English

Listening to what the Bible plainly says is “post-enlightenment bullshit”?
Baptism does save, but the baptism that saves isn’t water baptism.
Telling people that the same promise applies to their offspring isn’t a command to baptize infants. Baptism follows faith, there isn’t a single example that shows otherwise, so why should we assume they meant to baptize their children, and not that the same promise still applies to them once they’re able to have faith?
Circumcision for infants was clearly commanded out in the OT, why would God not be clear again in the NT? Why should we have to rely on vagueness and inference to make doctrines that don’t align with the clearer passages?
The Bible is clear enough, I don’t care for other men’s opinions.
English

@Hezekiah_Judge @hookskat @DesertRox1 I wasn’t referring to the phrase if you actually read through and saw what I was responding to you’d know I was referring to her generalization of an entire group based on her negative interactions with a few
