Outflow from moist convection over France has moved over parts of England & Wales this afternoon, interrupting the otherwise mainly crystal clear skies. Where it's pushing up against the dry airmass arriving from the east, a convergence line has developed some cloud along it.

A fair bit of lightning is being detected along portions of a squall line currently departing Wales. Cardiff appears to have had some thunder. The section over southwest England was also showing some activity but this has recently quietened. All heading ~north-eastward.

Turns out I'm so English / European it's almost boring. 😅 The @AncestryUK DNA traits are very 50/50, some are spot on, others are way off.

Bournemouth Airport reported a rounded 17°C at 14:20 GMT today. Feels warm outside. This is rare territory for early March. Where I am about 10 miles further inland there's only one recorded instance (1943-present) of 17+ °C within the opening 8 days, a 17.5°C on 2nd March 1977.

@railnigel Two channels, two VHF 405 lines aerials, one for BBC (looks like an X), one for ITV and only the posher neighbour had a telephone. Nearest phone box 3 streets away where you needed a 3d, a 6d, or a shilling for long calls. Jeez I’m getting old…..

@Captain_Deltic My Ford electric car has internal sound effects that make it sound a bit like a sports car when you accelerate hard. I want to get to that sound file and change it to a class 87. 😁

New Honda fun electric mini-car has fake gear change paddles with simimulated engine sounds which play through the car sound system. A Deltic sound track could be just the thing for Azuma drivers. But you'd need an extra weak field effect around 100 mile/h.
