Funky hippyness from the Happy Valley, meanderings in cosmic and celtic lore. And some hoopy loopy pics of local scenes, love & joy 🌻

Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) is Now the Brightest Comet in 13 Years! This incredible comet has overtaken NEOWISE from 2020 in brightness, with current estimates of 0.4 magnitude! The tail is stretching a whopping 15 degrees across the sky—that's equal to the width of 30 Full Moons! 🌕 💥 The forward scattering effect on the comet's dust is kicking in, which is expected to boost its brightness even more in the coming 2-3 weeks. Predictions for this comet to become the brightest of the Northern Hemisphere in the 21st century are looking more and more likely. 📅 Key Dates: Oct 9: The comet could reach a magnitude of -5, making it bright enough for daytime observations! Oct 11/12: Northern Hemisphere stargazers will finally get a view in the evening sky with a magnitude of -3. The best visibility will last from October 12 to October 30, just after sunset. ✨ The Brightest Comets in the Last 60 Years: - 1965: Comet Ikeya-Seki, -10 mag - 1975: Comet West, -3 mag - 1997: Comet Hale-Bopp, -1 mag - 2003: Comet NEAT, -1 mag - 2007: Comet McNaught, -5 mag* - 2011: Comet Lovejoy, -3 mag* - 2020: Comet NEOWISE, +1 mag (* = visible only in the Southern Hemisphere) Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime spectacle! Keep your eyes on the sky! 👀✨ 1st image: © Yuri Beletsky 2nd image: © Gerald Rhemann 3rd image: © Jose Santivañez 4th image: © Gergő Tóth #CometC2023A3 #TsuchinshanATLAS #CometWatching #Astronomy #Stargazing #NightSky #C2023A3 #StarWalk #c2023a3_daily

The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere today is comparable to around 4.3 million years ago, when sea level was about 75 ft higher than today, the average temp was 7 degrees F higher than in pre-industrial times, & large forests occupied areas of the Arctic that are now tundra.

Simple question to @angleseycouncil @cyngormon WHY ? Why destroy a 350m bank of Buttercups in full bloom at Traeth Penrhos Holyhead the bank was alive with Bees feeding on the blooms until the council came along (many would have ended up killed ) @IoloWilliams2 @AngleseyScMedia
