This is, unless I am forgetting one, the 4th civil rights lawsuit by the DOJ to defend Second Amendment rights in the places they are under siege: 1. Sued Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department over its years-long wait times for carry permits. 2. Sued US Virgin Islands over unconstitutional gun permit denials. 3. Sued DC over its AWB. 4. Now this Denver lawsuit. That's on top of the many amicus briefs, the ATF rule changes just announced, the upcoming rights restoration process, and so on. We are a cynical bunch in the 2A space, and perhaps that comes with the territory I guess of being activists for a right which is centered on the ultimate skepticism of government power. But it's critical to acknowledge that, in terms of federal support of the Second Amendment, we've never had it so good in modern history. The only comparison I can think of, as I often note, is the Reconstruction-era Freedmen's Bureau, which also tried hard to defend gun rights for people whose government was trying to disarm them.

I didn’t watch the MetGala. Haven’t cared about it… ever. I do find it funny that tickets to the event are way more expensive than anything any of us could afford, yet, the attendees want you to believe they’re just like us. Tax the rich; just not them. Not a single blue collar worker in sight. Not a single regular person. Not a single parent that got a college bill and is wondering how to pay it. I spent my night having dinner with my family, reading some Bible verses with my daughter, and then playing Arc Raiders with some buddies of mine. It wasn’t an exclusive fashion gala, but I’d much rather be doing that any day.

For a change of pace… The church my family has been attending for the past couple years isn’t something I’m happy with. The pastor has fully embraced “prosperity preaching” and spends entire sermons clubbing you over the head to tithe. I seriously feel like he’s a bad month away from his own “lock the doors” moment. His wife, the “co-pastor,” literally turned her back on me when I was going through a rough period, both personally and professionally. Honestly, growing up, I never had a good church relationship. There was a LOT of bad disguised as good. The older I get, the more I realize how toxic that environment was. For my little girl, I want her to grow up in faith. I want her to be a true believer in the Word. I want her to enjoy Christ and a relationship with Him. I only hope we can find a really good church in Florida that can nurture all of it. Y’all pray for my family and I, please.

I flew a ton of sports charters out of LA and Orange County for Delta. The 75/76 got the football teams. The 73 got the baseball and hockey guys. You should’ve seen what the Minnesota Wild did to my jet on a charter home after a loss. Lots of fun! The maintenance and catering guys didn’t dig it, though. 🤣 I flew the Dodgers and Angels a lot. Delta does a great job on charters. The spreads for the athletes are amazing.

I’ve been quiet on here for a while and I just wanted to let you guys know why. The last 2 years has been the lowest point in my life. I’ve struggled with PTSD, depression, and you fuckin name it. At times I didn’t think I would win this fight, nor did I want to. I’m still struggling but finding a new purpose in training our K9 Unit has filled a void for me. The joy I get from watching these dogs transform from green dogs to obedient and well trained bad asses entrusted with saving the lives of my officers is hard to explain. I’ve went my whole life being trained and told that mental health was just a coward’s way out. That’s how it was in the military and in LE up until a few years ago. So naturally, I’ve isolated myself in an attempt to deal with my own shit. I know now that is not the right way but it’s my way. The purpose of this message is to let you guys know that I’m ok and back on path to being myself again. Also to let you guys know that mental health is fuckin real! The traumas we see in both the military and LE can and will break even strongest people out there if you let them. Reach out for help if you need it. Check on your friends and loved ones. There are plenty more people like me who suffer silently and you won’t know unless you persistently check on them. Take care of each other!
