As promised, here's a link to a pastoral curriculum (year 10). Autumn term 1 and 2 fully resourced and booklets included. I have included the full year plan but can't share the rest as I'm using unifrog resources. Hope it's useful to someone! dropbox.com/scl/fo/1s1x118…

At Glastonbury yesterday, a band called for “inshallah, from the river to the sea.” The crowd cheered. When I hear that phrase chanted with joy, I feel fear and - whoever you are - so should you. Most people don’t understand what it means. But it’s been used for decades by those who want to erase Jews from where their language, faith & indigenous culture began. A place that was meant to offer refuge when the rest of the world shut its door. I’ve spoken out against injustice & unbearable loss. I’ve made work about the ‘Nakba’ & the ongoing trauma of Palestinians. But “from the river to the sea” doesn’t call for peace. It calls for a world without Jews. You can stand for Palestinian rights without denying Jewish ones. You can oppose a government without wishing away a people. If your activism leaves no room for someone else’s safety, grief or history it’s not activism. It’s hate.

A mother shared a sip of the smoothie she craved during her pregnancy with her 7-month-old baby. She remembers. 😋

I’ve been MIA because we welcomed Cora Olivia Fitzgibbon on 17.03.2025. We lost our daughter Lily last June so we believe Cora is her gift. 🌈 We continue to raise money for @SandsUK so if you’ve ever used a resource of mine, a donation would be amazing. justgiving.com/page/inmemoryo…

Just here feeling v grateful for my parents. Someone told me their mum charged them to babysit their kids😭 When my son was a few months old and I was ill from sleep deprivation, my mum lay on the couch, held him whilst he slept and kept herself awake by watching TV from 3-7am.

@OKR1995 @MrTs_NQTs @DeputyGrocott Try not to take it personally. Often this is not modelled at home. All we can do is reinforce expectations and model respectful behaviour.

Any other teachers struggling with the complete lack of respect children have for adults these days? How do you teach respect? I can’t get over the way some children talk to me… and in I’m Year 2!! Any advice would be helpful thank you 🙏🏼 @MrTs_NQTs @DeputyGrocott #teacher

@MrMHistorian @MrThorntonTeach Just pull the weakest books to flick through. Or maybe a cross section of abilities. You could also do it live in the lesson by walking around with a mini whiteboard

@HollyTurts @MrThorntonTeach How do you find this works? My current policy is we find 3 pieces of spelling and grammar per piece of work, every two weeks. This is so time consuming when I have 14 sets of books to mark! Especially when I don’t find it has much of an impact on literacy etc

Does anyone have any examples of whole class feedback that they feel works well for them? I’m finding that pupils are spelling the same words wrong in January that they were in December despite my marking picking them up. Surely there’s a better and more impactful way?

@MrMHistorian @MrThorntonTeach I do something similar but just on a ppt. Flick through a few books and make a list of areas to improve. Give time in class to fix.

@HollyTurts Of course. Drop me a DM with an email address to send it to. It’s largely based on the assembly presentation from the Holocaust Memorial Trust, so I can’t claim full responsibility for the resources 👍🏻

One for the history books! We’re presenting Horrible Histories with a BAFTA Special Award in recognition of the show’s extraordinary impact and the joy it’s brought people of all ages throughout the incredible fifteen years it has graced our screens. BAFTA Young Presenter Jeriah Kibusi stopped by Henry VIII’s dressing room to deliver the good news ahead of the Horrible Histories team receiving the award at a special presentation next month – though that didn’t stop Henry practicing his acceptance speech! 👑
