Police don’t prevent crime. They show up after it happens. Crime prevention starts with funding social programs and creating opportunity.

@JustinTHaskins @CatoInstitute @David_J_Bier They're given a TIN in order to pay taxes. But if this is anything like a previous post these guys made, they're counting the extra tax revenue from them driving up property values due to large demand when the supply stayed the same

@CatoInstitute @David_J_Bier How do they pay taxes without committing fraud, engaging in identity theft, or committing some other crime? Why is it that some people are allowed to commit those kinds of serious crimes but other people are not?

Illegal immigrants have paid about $3 trillion in taxes over the last 30 years and likely reduced deficits by $1.7 trillion, says Cato’s @David_J_Bier. Check out the data: ow.ly/x1MF50YKHtb

I find it absolutely hilarious that Illhan Omar revised her financials from $30M to $90,000. It’s so Somali. “Oh no they noticed I’m committing fraud. Quick, delete everything! Tell them I’m completely broke. They’ll never find out now.” Comically stupid.

@AaronRegunberg Honestly, I don't give a shit. Every tax goes the same way 1. It's only on a select few 2. Need more money, so expand the tax 3. Need more money, so expand the tax 4. It's a normal tax that now affects most people

@conor64 What evidence do you have that they're "much better suited to the place"? They're just more willing to search for a better economic opportunity, and that doesn't mean they deserve it at our expense

A more useful way to think about immigration: the tiny cohort of people who self-select to leave one place and move to another are unrepresentative of the population of the place they're leaving in many ways, including being much better suited to the place they chose to go
Stephen Miller@StephenM

A useful way to think about migration is to consider what kind of societies the migrants have built in their home countries and to what extent you would like those conditions replicated here.

Why do liberals demand gun control after every shooting, but never border control after every rape or murder by illegals?

You know what's really embarrassing about this conflict? Iran has a 90 percent literacy rate while 50 per cent of the US reads at the 6th grade level or below. Iran sent Phds to the ceasefire talks. The US sent realtors.

Fantastic endorsement of the Trump administration by the guys at the Cato Institute. Really worth a read. My favorite part was the 99.9% drop in asylum requests on the southern border under Trump, the 90% cut in refugee admissions under Trump, and the 90% cut in new H-1B visa issuance under Trump.
David J. Bier@David_J_Bier

Trump has cut legal immigration more than illegal immigration, as I predicted. While illegal entries have fallen, they continued a prior trend, falling more before he came back. Meanwhile, Trump has cut legal entries, reversing the prior upward trend.

@bonchieredstate How are you getting $2? The tax is something like 67 cents per gallon. A lot of the extra cost comes from the special blend that's required by law there

The State of California makes more money off a gallon of gas than the oil company that refined it and got it to market. Almost $2 of every gallon there goes to Sacramento’s coffers. And these people are *still* mumbling about “corporate greed” and more taxes.
Rep. Ro Khanna@RepRoKhanna

Trump's immoral and reckless war in Iran has shot up gas prices in my district to nearly $6 a gallon. Stop the war, stop exporting our crude oil, and pass my windfall profits tax on Big Oil to give Americans a rebate for their gas bills.

So much winning in Arizona! Thanks to MAGA, more than 400,000 Arizonans have been kicked off of SNAP, the highest figure of all states. Almost 50% of Arizona SNAP participants have now lost their benefits. Stop voting for Republicans.

I have a mix of conservative, liberal and centrist followers. It's not possible for me to tweet without making a decent percentage of my followers angry. But I'm wondering if you are in that very small percentage of my followers who find yourself agreeing with my tweets at least 80% of the time. If you are, please reply in the affirmative, and provide a brief description of your political orientation, if you don't mind.
